Probably each of us in childhood has been to the circus and the zoo. Some people go there even now, take their children to give them moments of joy, to fill their childhood with happiness. On the one hand, it seems like a completely natural parental concern. But the animals in the cages of the zoo and circus, alas, grew up without such care.
I vaguely remember my impressions after visiting the circus and zoo as a child. I realized that sitting in a cage is not very fun, but a child's mind is not accustomed to loading itself with sad thoughts. But somehow I was called to the circus when I was no longer a child. The circus program was called Skate Bears. I looked at the bears who not only skated, but also got up to various tricks, they rode a skate, standing on their front paws. I then thought that I, in principle, do not know how to skate, but, if I wanted to, I could learn, but just not standing on my hands. Never! It's scary, it's not natural to stand on your hands. I would never have learned that way … unless I was starved and punished severely for disobedience.
I hardly sat through to the end of this disgusting performance. Since then, the circus for me is something wild, evil, disgusting. When I see circus posters, where the emphasis is mainly on “incredible shows with animals,” I wonder how civilized people in our age, when entertainment is at every step (without the pain and suffering of other living beings), still support this industry of violence. Not a single animal came to the circus voluntarily. No animal wants to perform tricks for a piece of food.
But, animals will suffer while you buy a ticket to the circus, it is you who are contributing to this abuse of animals.
Circus elephants are always something special. Majestic giants (with a broken will, unfortunate prisoners) who do unimaginable things in the arena. But in order for elephants to walk in circles, holding on to their tails, or stand on their hind legs, perform various bows and other tricks, their will is broken from early childhood. Little elephants are being brutalized, just take a look at the pictures below.
Pay attention to the stick with a hook - an essential tool for inflicting pain on an elephant. During the performance, the hook is masked with a fringe, but the elephant knows that as long as this stick is in the hands of the tamer, he is in control of it. The trainer plunges this hook into the elephant's especially sensitive parts (since childhood).

The elephant is tied around its legs with ropes and tied to another elephant with a chain. Any movement, any natural behavior of the baby elephant is suppressed by the trainer with a sharp hook.
Having taken away the little elephants from their mothers, the circus workers chained them to the concrete floor by all four legs. At the same time, elephants are not allowed to play outdoors. Sitting on a leash for an inquisitive elephant up to 23 hours a day is unbearable and dangerous. (Do your kids know about this?)
Usually elephants learn very painful lessons from trying to somehow free themselves from tight ropes. Their resistance can last for several months, but sooner or later they give up.
Among the trainers there is a saying, which for obvious reason does not go beyond their circle: “How to make an elephant stand on one leg? We need to knock off the other three.”
Predator training requires extreme cruelty. Lions and tigers are not cute kittens for you. The trainer makes a lot of "efforts" to show who is in charge. And although the representatives of the circus say that they have a humane training, they cannot be trusted. And what does humane mean in general? Are the animals politely asked and persuaded to perform unnatural tricks? Maybe they came to the circus from the wild at will? Or maybe starving them is more humane than beating them?
How can you humanely force a predator to become a rider? And how can you humanely explain to a horse that she shouldn't be afraid of a lion?
Who would even think that riding a lion or a tiger on a horse or an elephant is admirable? Only people who do not think about anything can admire such a sight.
Horses have long been tamed by man, thousands of years ago, with the help of horses, man mastered new lands. Now there is no need to use a horse for survival, but horses are still enslaved by humans. In the circus, horses are subjected to sophisticated torture. So that they can stand on their hind legs for a long time, an electric shock is applied to their genitals at the moment when the trainer suddenly throws his arms up. From the terrible pain, the horse rears up. If the horse lowers the front legs before the handler lowers his arms, the electric shock is applied again. And so - until you get the result required for the number.
Funny monkeys, dogs and cats are subjected to no less cruelty. And if you think that dolphins in dolphinariums are happy animals, then you are mistaken. No animal wants to do what nature does not give it, and it does not matter whether it climbs trees or swims in water. Dolphinarium for dolphins is hell. A free-living dolphin swims 150 kilometers a day. Its habitat is 85 sq km. In captivity, he can splash in a pool of concrete, steel or glass measuring 8x8 meters and 1.8 meters deep. The average life span of a dolphin in a dolphinarium is 10 times lower than in natural conditions.
A whole book could be written about the suffering of animals in a circus. But it's better to see once. Watch this movie and say NO to the animal circus. Just 30 minutes of your time can change your thinking and give a free life without violence to animals in their natural habitat.
