The huge territory turns the whole of Russia into one large protected area. In addition to all the famous sights, there are dozens of such protected places that only a few have heard of. Underwater caves and salt lakes, stone pillars and huge waterfalls, vast, unoccupied, beautiful in their emptiness territory.
Today we will tell you a little more about this Russia. Our list of unexplored reserves includes only the best sights - and some of the places have not yet been visited by humans.
Weathering pillars

7 pillars towering on a plateau in the middle of nowhere. The height of the largest is as much as 34 meters. Particularly romantic natures attribute animal forms to the appearance of individual pillars, in fact, the silhouettes of the rocks change, depending on the point of view. The pillars of weathering are the remains of the once majestic mountains that succumbed to the force of the wind.

The area of this strange lake is 150 square kilometers. And the depth does not exceed 10 centimeters in summer and 70 in winter. For this, some especially not romantic persons call him “the great salt puddle”. People come to the lake for treatment and admire the bizarre salt landscapes that nature itself creates here.
Curonian Spit

It is here, on this huge strip of sand, that the famous "dancing forest" with unusually curved trees is located. On the Curonian Spit, located off the Baltic coast of Russia, there are several species of rare animals; here you can see wild boars and roe deer walking freely. Birds flying for the winter stop here, which attracts bird watchers from all over the world to the spit. The Curonian Spit looks like a huge saber chopping the mass of the Baltic Sea water into two unequal parts. There are several villages of local residents, which get along well with the local diverse fauna. At one time, Vikings lived on the Curonian Spit: excursions are now conducted to the site of archaeological excavations.
Lena Pillars

Along the right bank of the great Lena, the famous Lena Pillars rise as formidable cliffs. They appeared as a result of prolonged exposure to the wind on the once impregnable stone cliffs. There is not a single settlement in these wild places, which, together with the unusual views, causes some mystical experiences for many tourists. This unique monument is included in the UNESCO World Register.

This group of lakes cascades one above the other. The Altai mountains and without them are a wonderful, wild place, but the lakes add some new charm to them. The rarest plant species are found here, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Tourists come here for incredible views that open from the shores of each of the lakes.
Valley of Geysers

One of the largest geyser fields in the world is located in Kamchatka. Getting here is very difficult, however, the journey is clearly worth the effort and money spent on it. You will not be able to get into the Valley of Geysers itself: there is a strict reserve regime on the territory of the reserve. But there is another way to see the legendary place - a helicopter excursion.
Kungur Ice Cave

The length of this largest karst cave in Europe is 5,700 meters. Tourists are allowed to climb to a half-kilometer depth: further travel is already life-threatening. There are more than 70 lakes inside the cave, which adds a mystical aura to the place.
Orda underwater cave

Cave divers from all over the world gather to visit the Orda Underwater Cave. This is one of the most interesting and most dangerous diving spots: numerous dead-end sections and tunnels several kilometers long, a lot of still unexplored passages. Whoever gets here to dive, of course, will not be allowed. But, if you are an experienced cave diver, then a visit to the Orda cave is definitely recommended for you.
Kinzelyuk waterfall

A huge waterfall falls from the mountain slopes in a mass of steel-gray water. 330 meters make Kinzelyuk waterfall one of the highest in Europe. It was about him that Friedrik Stauzer, an Austrian traveler, wrote: “From afar, the canvas of the waterfall looks like a fragment of a cloudy sky, suddenly cut straight from the mountainside. Going down its waters would be the most exciting adventure in the life of every man."
