Almost 170 thousand people want to move to live on Mars forever.

They have applied to participate in the project of the Dutch company Mars One, which is going to establish a settlement on the Red Planet by 2022. Upon registration in the program, each volunteer, depending on the country, pays from $ 5 to $ 75.

The estimated cost of the "space project" is $ 6 billion. The founder and CEO of the company Bas Lansdorp hopes to increase the number of volunteers to a million people.

The first six groups, four people each, will be formed by 2015. After that, for seven years they will have to prepare to change their place of residence. Several robots are planned to be sent to Mars first. From 2016 to 2020, they will settle down on the Red Planet, that is, they will build residential and service modules there.

In 2022, a spacecraft with live people on board will fly to Mars; adventure lovers will not have a return ticket. The group will arrive at the site seven months later, already in 2023.

The first settlers of Mars will be two men and two women. New colonists will arrive every two years. The official language of the "new Martians" will be English.

Money for the implementation of the Mars One project is expected to be received from sponsors, as well as due to the popularity of an interactive TV program. The inhabitants of the Earth are promised to show all the nuances of the life of the heroes - from the selection of new "Martians" to the arrival on the Red Planet and life on it.
