A group of Israeli scientists from the Hebrew University's Hadassah Clinic, led by Judith Katz of the Neuropsychiatric Laboratory, made sure in a series of experiments that the “life rewind experience” at the moment of dying actually exists.
In science, this phenomenon is called LRE (Life-review experience), and it is recorded in combination with other visions of near-death experience (NDE - in English abbreviation). Those who visited the threshold of the World assured that they saw themselves from the sidelines, rushed through the tunnel, met with deceased relatives. But the "death journey" usually began with this very rewind of life.
First, the scientists interviewed 7 patients who had experienced what they swore to LRE to the fullest. Having identified the characteristic features of the phenomenon, they compiled a questionnaire, which was distributed to other 264 survivors of clinical death.
Their answers were enough to carry out a statistical analysis and draw a number of conclusions, which were published in the scientific journal Consciousness and Cognition ("Consciousness and cognition"). The article confirms almost all the stories known since ancient times about how before death, in a split second, the whole life flashes before the eyes, after which the survivor begins to appreciate his being more.
