According to American researchers, in the near future, people will no longer have to sit for hours at textbooks and memorize verb conjugations.
Nicholas Negroponte of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who predicted the "death" of the computer mouse back in the 1980s, now believes that after 30 years, learning foreign languages will no longer be a problem.
The scientist claims that in the near future it will be enough for a person to swallow a pill in order to learn a new language or get acquainted with a literary work. According to him, people have a lot of experience in consuming information through the visual channels, but this method may be ineffective compared to other alternatives.

Negroponte said that he is not the only scientist who believes that this will be possible over the next 30 years. The scientist recalled that in 1984 he predicted that people would stop using mice to control a computer, and instead would use their fingers. In fact, Negroponte predicted the emergence of touch screens, the popularity of which today is difficult to underestimate.
“We chose the fingers because everyone thought it was funny. There were fears that the hand would cover what you want to see, and that your finger would stain the screen, the scientist notes. Negroponte made another prediction that came true in 1995. Then he said that people will buy books and newspapers on the Internet and read them on screens, so that his latest prediction may not be as fantastic as it might seem today.
