In the American city of Chicago, Illinois, cases of observation of a mysterious cryptid have increased in recent weeks. Many townspeople began to notice an incomprehensible creature in the sky, similar to a large winged reptile. The flying reptilian instills fear in the common people and makes eyewitnesses worry about their safety. Some Chicagoans even go to law enforcement to shoot or capture a potentially dangerous monster.
Local supernatural researcher Manuel Navarett reports that the first sighting of the monster, nicknamed Mothman, took place on July 20 of this year, at about 17:00. A witness to that terrible event writes:
In the evening we drove along the left bank of Lake Shore towards North Avenue. In the car were me, my best friend, my sister and her boyfriend. As we approached our destination, something large flew out from under the bridge in front of us and swiftly headed through the air to the treatment plant on the lake. It was definitely not a seagull, not an owl, not a bat, or a kite. It was a very large black creature with wide membranous wings. My friend, who was sitting next to me, was the first to notice this creature and immediately pointed out to us. It looked like a prehistoric flying dinosaur. We got a good look at him, although we could not observe him for a very long time, since the driver had to concentrate on the road. In addition, we were elementarily scared, and we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. What if this creature is dangerous? The impression was madethat she could open a passenger car like a tin can.
The second observation was made on July 27, at approximately 20:45, by a man. He reports:
I was driving home from work. Two blocks from the local train station, I suddenly saw a winged creature resembling a huge bat. His height was clearly more than two meters. The creature sat motionless over a street lamp near the road and gazed at something with its large red eyes. Soon I saw a group of children who crept up to the monster and began filming it with their mobiles. They weren't afraid of the monster at all! I think if you find these guys, they will have a couple of pictures that can become a real world sensation. When one of the children photographed the cryptid with a flash, he, apparently, was frightened by the bright light, jumped off the spot and flew upward, soaring over the library nearby. I was so shocked by what I saw that I even told my friend a priest in church about it on Sunday. He advised me to worry less about what happened and think more about God.
Another observation took place on July 29 at 10:30. Here is what an eyewitness says:
My buddy and I saw something startling and defying explanation over Albany Park near my home. We didn't know who to contact, so we decided to write to you, Mr. Navarett. Hopefully cryptozoology is among your research interests. We went out to the balcony to smoke. My house is located about half a mile north of the park. We saw a huge black figure that seemed to slide across the sky. I ran into the apartment for binoculars, after which my friend and I watched this creature for about a couple of minutes. Soon it disappeared into the clouds, flying south. This creature simultaneously resembled a humanoid, and a reptilian, and even an insectoid. His wings were like those of a bat, but his physique was human. As for the head of a creature, it can be compared to the head of a dragonfly under a microscope. The creature had large red eyes on half of its muzzle and no mouth was visible.
Unfortunately, none of these witnesses managed to capture the cryptid in a photo or video. Perhaps one of the aforementioned children will publish their pictures on the World Wide Web.
