In three years at Weston Elementary School in Ripon, San Joaquin County, California, three teachers and four children fell ill with severe cancers.
In total, about 400 people study at this school, from the age of kindergarten to grade 8. So many cancer patients in a short time are undoubtedly an anomaly for a small school.
Parents blame the small tower installed on the school grounds with cellular transmitters installed on it.
Last Monday, about 200 parents attended the school board meeting and demanded immediate action. Parental outrage peaked over the fact that a fourth student was admitted to hospital last Friday with a life-threatening form of cancer. Some parents then took their children out of this school.
The father of the sick boy, Richard Rex, said that a strange lump appeared on his son's stomach about a month ago. The Rexes live across the street from the school, and the boy's class is on the same side as the tower. At first, the parents decided that the child was injured on the rink (the boy was fond of ice skating), but the hospital suspected oncology and soon an examination revealed liver cancer.
According to the school administration, radiation measurements were taken at the tower, which showed that it was working as usual and there was nothing that would exceed the permissible radiation standards. Nevertheless, negotiations are underway to move the tower to another location.

The first case of cancer was in 2016, and the next year another student got brain cancer. His mother, Monica Ferrulli, already suspected that the radiation from the tower was to blame and demanded that the school administration remove it.
In response, she received a statement that the tower did not violate any standards and that the study of the American Cancer Society did not confirm that radiation from the towers caused cancer.
For placing the tower on its territory, the school receives $ 2,000 a month and the lease was concluded for 25 years.
