The hairiest family in the world lives in Mexico, in the town of Loreto. Most of the 30 people in the Aseves family suffer from congenital hypertrichosis.
This pathology manifests itself in excessive hairiness of the face and torso, and in past centuries such people were considered semi-animals or werewolves.
Women of the Aceves family have a small fluff of blond or brown hair only on the face, shoulders and chest, while the entire body of men is covered with thick, coarse and dark hair.
Jesus "Chuy" Aceves is the most famous member of this family. It is believed that the pathology passed to him from his great-grandmother, who was the first in the family with such a disease. In the circus, where he previously performed, he was called "The Wolf Man".
In 2010, Jesus was awarded the title of "Hairiest Man in the World". Now he is filming on TV. The actor is married and has two daughters.
His sister Lily was also born with this disease. She is married with a son and works in the police force in Mexico City. Many in his family believe that they are the descendants of the famous Julia Pastrana, who was called the "woman-monkey."

In Loreto, many residents avoid them and even call them "satanic beasts", kill their cats, get baptized when they see them, constantly insult them. Jesus was also ridiculed as a child and really wants his children to avoid such a fate.
Jesús recently starred in a documentary about himself, Chewie: The Wolfman, which will be released on September 25th. He hopes the film will allow people to learn more about his family and stop being afraid of them.
The girls in the family regularly shave their faces to avoid insults from passers-by.
