At the end of the eighties of the last century, in the city of Russian glory, Sevastopol, an amazing incident occurred that can hardly be explained rationally.

Despite the fact that they carefully tried to classify him, one of the direct witnesses of the incident decided to share a long-standing secret with the public in his old age. The authority of this person is beyond doubt, since we are talking about the captain of the ship, whose crew then faced the consequences of a mysterious time anomaly.

In the summer of 1989, a Black Sea Fleet warship was moored in the Sevastopol Bay. One of the sailors on duty suddenly noticed bubbles a couple of meters from the side of the ship, as if someone was under water. The sailor immediately reported this to the captain, and in less than three minutes the boat was lowered into the water. Having swum to the suspicious bubbles, the sailors saw a diver in a German diving suit from the Second World War.

Arrested, he was taken to the ship. There, the first thing they did was to remove the mask from the diver. The frightened stranger immediately said: "Hitler is kaput!", Thereby showing loyalty to the state that detained him. The man spoke exclusively German, so an interpreter was required, who was easily found among the sailors of the ship. With his help, the detainee told the Soviet sailors that he was a German saboteur, and his name was Erhard Simmelman. In the yard, according to the stranger, it was June 15, 1943, and he secretly sailed here in order to mine the Sevastopol Bay. Needless to say, the ship's captain was simply shocked by this confession. Several times he asked the translator to repeat the same questions to the diver, and each time the German answered the same: now, they say, World War II, and he is a soldier of the Third Reich, although he does not at all share the Nazi ambitions of the Fuhrer and personally has nothing against the Soviet Union. But he is a military man, and an order is an order …

A military diver from the past remains an unsolved mystery

The captain had to turn to the military counterintelligence officers. After talking with the detainee, they quickly took the diver, and with him the soldier-interpreter. They were never seen again on this ship. The next day, the captain of the ship himself was summoned to the Headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, where he was told that he was obliged to keep quiet about what had happened, otherwise he would not escape troubles in the service. Until today, the witness was really silent, but now he decided that it was time to tell people the truth. Now he is retired, so he is no longer in danger of being demoted. And the government changed long ago, so the former captain has no special reason to fear for his safety. However, just in case, he still did not reveal his name, nor did he say what kind of cruiser he headed in Sevastopol at the end of the eighties of the last century.

Most likely, we are talking about a break in the space-time continuum, during which the German military was moved forty-six years ahead. In Germany, he was probably considered dead. It would be interesting to know the fate of this person. It seems that when he materialized in 1989 in the Sevastopol Bay, as young as he was almost half a century ago, he was hardly sent back to his homeland for inquiry …
