Even convinced atheists do not avoid expressions: "God is with him", "God will judge him", "God will punish him." Indeed, very often what happens seems to indicate that somewhere there, above, there is a supreme judge who knows and sees everything and rewards everything good and bad. This is especially clearly manifested when retribution overtakes criminals who escaped punishment at one time.

Jean-François Hay, nicknamed François L'Olone, went down in the history of Caribbean piracy as one of the most brutal filibusters. Once, having captured a Spanish frigate, he personally beheaded all the captives. They say that while doing so, he licked blood from his own saber and commented on the difference in taste. Exquemelin told L'Olone of the retribution that soon followed:

“… God no longer desires to help these people (pirates), and he decided to punish L'Olone with the most terrible death for all the cruelties he had perpetrated on many unfortunate people. L'Olone and his people fell into the hands of the savages … They tore L'Olone to shreds and roasted his remains."

The main revolutionary villain is considered to be a volunteer at St. Petersburg University, Sergei Nechaev. But he is more ideological than real villain.

In 1869, Nechaev created a secret organization "People's Repression" (or "Ax Society"), the purpose of which was to prepare the workers 'and peasants' revolution by reprisals against all the unwanted. However, of the real atrocities, Sergei Nechaev managed to commit only one - the murder on November 21, 1869 in Moscow in Petrovsky Park, a member of his organization, student Ivan Ivanov, who allowed himself to argue with the "leader" and ask uncomfortable questions about spending money from the party fund.

Nechaev was sentenced to 20 years in hard labor. By personal instruction | Emperor, instead of being sent to Siberia, the criminal was forever imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress, where he died of consumption 10 years later - by a mystical coincidence, on the anniversary of his crime - November 21, 1882.

Another mystical coincidence occurred in the fate of Nechaev's closest associate, Peter Uspensky. He was serving his hard labor for complicity in the murder of Ivanov in Eastern Siberia. In 1881, he helped other convicts dig an underground escape hole. But the escape failed - the guards discovered a tunnel. It was immediately assumed that someone had reported him to the guards. The Kiev underground fighter Ignatius Ivanov, sentenced to indefinite hard labor, for some reason immediately believed that Ouspensky was Judas. As firmly and as unsubstantiated, as once Ouspensky believed in the betrayal of Ivan Ivanov.

Ignatius unwittingly avenged his namesake. Ouspensky was strangled in a bathhouse, in a small cubbyhole behind the stove, and then they hung him up so that they thought he had turned up himself.

Kate Barker is considered the most brutal gangster in America. The backbone of her gang was her four sons: Arthur, Fred, Herman and Lloyd, from whom she raised ruthless killers. They robbed banks and at the same time killed everyone who tried to resist them. It is highly symbolic that none of them died a natural death.

Herman was shot dead in 1927, and Arthur in 1936 while trying to escape from prison in Chicago. On October 16, 1935, FBI agents surrounded the two-story cottage where Kate Barker, Fred and Lloyd had taken refuge, and invited the criminals to surrender. But they responded with bursts of Thompson submachine guns. A real fight ensued. The cottage was just riddled. Kate and Fred died, and in the body of the latter then they counted 11 bullets. But Lloyd managed to survive the shootout. He received 25 years in prison, but was released on parole in 1947. True, freedom turned out to be disgraceful to him: two years after Lloyd's release, his wife shot and killed.

Pranas Brazinkas was very fond of money. However, the socialist system did not allow him to get rich in any way. Brazinskas was twice convicted of economic crimes.

Since the Soviet system does not allow a person to steal, then we must look for a more democratic one. And Pranas decided that it was time for him to move to the "decaying" West. He managed to lay the same idea in the head of his son Algirdas. And, moreover, the father was able to convince his son that on the way to the goal you can step over the corpses.

On October 15, 1970, the Brazinkasa father and son attempted to hijack the plane. To break into the cockpit, Pranas shot 19-year-old flight attendant Nadia Kurchenko. Then, injuring the pilots, they forced them to land the plane in Turkey.

The US special services took the terrorists under their wing, trying to make them a symbol of the struggle of the Soviet people against the communist regime. They transported them to America, where they provided them with housing and money.

However, in the "capitalist paradise" the Brazinskas did not find happiness. Thirty years after her joint crime, the goddess of retribution, Nemesis, remembered them. Father and son quarreled, and Algirdas "sewed on" dad, after which he was sent to prison.

In this tragic denouement of the fate of Pranas Brazinskas, there was some kind of supreme justice. As if he was overtaken by retribution for the murder of a young and courageous flight attendant Nadya Kurchenko.

Something similar happened to the other plane hijackers, members of the Ovechkin family. They also tried to hijack the plane to the West and at the same time shot the flight attendant Tamara Zharkaya. Five Ovechkins committed suicide during the storming of the plane by special forces, so only two from the family of terrorists, Igor and Olga, sat on the dock. The court assigned them 8 and 6 years in prison, respectively.

Just "exemplary" retribution from above overtook the criminals who committed in the first half of the 90s the only successful robbery of a collector's car in Yekaterinburg. This crime was organized by a bank employee and her lover - an employee of the non-departmental security responsible for transporting money. The lady told her lover when a large sum of money would be transported from the bank. And he took possession of this money, killing his comrades and stealing a collector's car. Photos of lovers-robbers were on all police tables in Yekaterinburg, but the intruders were never caught. It seemed that they, like in a movie, bask in the sun on some paradise islands and enjoy life. However, the reality turned out to be instructive and cruel.

A few years later, it turned out that the lovers did not move abroad, but settled in St. Petersburg with forged documents. A pile of blood-stained money did not bring them happiness. The former policeman tried to do business and went bankrupt, then invested a large sum in a certain financial pyramid and also went bankrupt. Money flowed through our fingers, and this only added fuel to the fire of the increasing domestic scandals with the mistress, who was a living reminder of the murder committed. After some time, the former bank employee was found hanged in the apartment.

According to one of the versions, a roommate helped her to go to the next world, but no evidence was found to confirm this. A year later, he also shot himself in the head. What caused such an act will remain a mystery forever, either - pangs of conscience, or - the ghosts of killed comrades. The pistol from which the suicide was committed was checked at the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and it was found out that it was listed for the OVO at the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Sverdlovsk Region. After that, the real name of the suicide surfaced, which was on the wanted list for a bank robbery.
