American Eric Norrie (Erik Norrie) can safely claim the title of the most unlucky man on the planet: a man who survived a lightning strike, a rattlesnake bite and a fight with monkeys, was attacked by a shark.

On July 29, 2013, Florida resident Eric Norrie, vacationing with his wife, children and father-in-law in the Bahamas, decided to go underwater hunting. The American was accompanied by all the members of his family, looking forward to an unforgettable vacation.

However, the appearance of the shark ruined the idyllic trip: the predator attacked Eric and almost bit off his leg. The American was saved by the intervention of his father-in-law, who jumped into the water to save the wounded.

“I was just rising to the surface when I heard my leg crack. Looking back, I saw that a shark was swimming away from me, in whose teeth a piece of my leg remained, - recalls a meeting with the inhabitant of the ocean Norrie. - A huge pool of blood immediately formed around me, attracting the shark to itself. She began to circle around me, looking around, as if choosing the right position to attack again. Fortunately, at that moment my wife's father was next to me, who pulled me out of the water and helped me get into the boat."

Eric immediately tied the injured leg with an elastic band, using it as a tourniquet. While he was stopping the bleeding, his wife called rescuers.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where doctors learned that the incident with the animal attack was not the only one in the life of an American. It turned out that the man had previously survived a lightning strike, a rattlesnake bite and a fight with monkeys. However, according to Norrie, meeting a shark was the scariest event that ever happened to him.

“It was an eerie adventure. I already thought that I would not get out of the water alive,”admits a surprisingly unlucky person who has been engaged in spearfishing since the age of eight.

Now the American will have to undergo several skin grafts to repair the damaged leg. Norrie's devout family says they will pray for Eric's recovery.

It is worth noting that Colombian Alexander Mandon can compete with him. As previously reported on FederalPost, the young man has already been struck by lightning four times.
