It turns out that there is nothing in the laws of theoretical physics that prohibits time travel. At least according to astrophysicist Ethan Siegel of Lewis Clark College.

Siegel explains how you can travel through time using tiny quantum vibrations in the structure of space and time that have already been found.

According to him, if "positive" and "negative" vibrations of energy were combined, then time travel would become possible.

Connecting them should provide an end-to-end wormhole or the so-called "wormhole" - a passage through a temporary space, which has long occupied the minds of science fiction writers.

Negative energy has not yet been discovered, but the existence of "wormholes" does not contradict Einstein's theory of relativity.

Based on this, Siegel notes that the creation of both a supermassive black hole and negative energy equivalent to it is possible. And their connection should form an end-to-end wormhole.

But what about timing? This is where Einstein's laws of relativity come in.

If you travel at a speed close to the speed of light, you are affected by a phenomenon known as time dilation.

This means that traveling at incredibly high speeds through space makes you move slower in time.

For example, if you were traveling through space at a speed close to the speed of light to a place located 40 light years away … you would get to your destination in just a year, and then return again in just a year.

But when you returned to Earth, you would find that 82 years have passed, and everyone you knew is old or dead long ago.

The wormhole could be designed so that one end would remain almost stationary and the other would move at almost the speed of light.

If you enter the moving end of a wormhole, you will find yourself at the static end of the wormhole - on Earth - just a year after its creation, whereas for yourself it will be 40 years.

If 40 years ago someone created such a pair of intricate wormholes and set out on a journey along them, then one could enter one of them today, in 2017, and return to the past in another, finding himself in … 1978.

The only problem is that you yourself could not have been there in 1978; you would need to be at the other end of the wormhole or travel through space to try to catch up with it.
