In the heart of Wales, at the top of a mountain, there is an abandoned stone house. Locals call it the "Cloud House" or "House in the Clouds" because it is often obscured by gray clouds descending from nearby mountains. The road does not lead there, and it is not needed, because no one has lived in this house for many decades. And for many years no one saw what was in the Cloud House.

Photographer Dan Kirka visited it and shared mesmerizing photos that allow us to look inside with at least one eye.

The house stands there as a kind of time capsule, guarding the precious moments of the daily life of its former inhabitants. Family photos, clothes, razor blades and other personal belongings remain intact in the house, except perhaps by time and dust.

Dan Kirka photographed a collection of maps, documents and other items that could be of great value to the owners of the house. When he walked around the house with a camera in hand, he felt that the house seemed to welcome visitors and did not reject them "as long as they behave decently."

The house still has many things left over from its last owners. They seem to have left the house in a hurry. Once this house was very beautiful and comfortable, it is understandable even now. The house has 4 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, front room, storage room, bathroom.

There is a dusty dressing table in the bedroom, and a man's jacket hangs on the closet door. Did the owner hang this jacket there when he last came home, or forgot to take it with him when he left?

Since no children's things were found, it can be assumed that the farmer and his wife did not have offspring and that there was no one to leave the farm after their death.

The owner of the house seems to have served in the navy, possibly during the Second World War, as there was a naval belt buckle and several photographs of warships and sailors - unfortunately, all of poor quality and faces on them can no longer be made out.

It seems that the hostess of the house loved to draw. On the dresser next to the tobacco tin is an open box of watercolors that were clearly used well.

Although the photographs show ordinary objects, merely signs of the daily life of the past, they echo in us with an old-fashioned sentimental feeling. In these photographs, we see only objects frozen in time. But if you connect your imagination, then you can finish the rest.

As Dan Kirka, who took these photos, said: “Over time, there is only one problem: it flies so fast. Photography is the only way I know to stop him."
