Video: Edgar Mitchell Apollo Moonwalker Dies at 85 (silent video) 2024, May

NASA veteran of the day did not live to see the 45th anniversary of his landing on our natural satellite as part of the Apollo 14 expedition

Edgar Mitchell - the sixth human to set foot on the lunar surface - died at the age of 85. I walked on it longer than others - more than 9 hours in a row. This was in 1971.

Edgar Mitchell landed on our natural satellite on February 5, 1971, together with Alan Shepard. Command module pilot Stuart Rusa remained in orbit.

Mitchell's flight took place 45 years ago.

Many years later, it turned out that Edgar was fond of parapsychology. And without notifying the rest of the crew of Apollo 14, in flight and on the moon, he sent telepathic messages to Earth in the form of groups of numbers. The details of that secret experiment are still unknown. But the astronaut said it was a success. That "plowed" it, coupled with the spectacles of the bottomless starry sky. From the moon, Edgar, according to him, returned as a different person, feeling the unity with the surrounding space. Retired from NASA and founded his own institute to study the hidden abilities of people. He believed that human consciousness can contact the Universe, exchange information recorded at the subatomic level with it, draw energy.

After visiting the moon, Mitchell resigned from NASA.

Mitchell's friends were Uri Geller, who bends spoons with his gaze, psychics-healers, yogis. And, of course, leading American ufologists.

Whether the astronaut himself made sure that the aliens exist, or who helped, is not known for certain. But Mitchell was convinced: in 1947, an alien "flying saucer" crashed in Roswell, a small town in New Mexico.

“I was born in Roswell, spent my childhood there,” Mitchell explained in one of his interviews. - Besides, I flew to the moon. It inspired confidence in people. They believed that the risk of telling me everything would be minimal. After all, both the military and civilians were threatened, tied with non-disclosure obligations. Many, by the way, decided to confess only before death.

Eyewitnesses told the astronaut that the military picked up four bodies.

Convinced of the accuracy of the story, Mitchell went to the Pentagon. I asked to be admitted to the intelligence committee at the main headquarters. I met with a certain admiral, to whom I told about what he knew.

- The admiral confirmed: everything I told is true, - the astronaut assured. “In other words, there was a UFO disaster in Roswell. There was an alien aircraft. But, as my interlocutor said, it would be better for me to remain in the dark about this.

Mitchell gave the name of the admiral. But he said that the meeting at the Pentagon took place in the late 90s, when he was trying to get the truth about the events of 1947 to become public. But nothing came of it.

The astronaut himself repeated many times that he had not personally seen a UFO. And he did not come into contact with aliens on the moon. I didn't even feel their presence. But he carefully studied eyewitness accounts - especially those who saw not just UFOs, but "flying saucers" in action.

“I have no reason not to trust the words of military and scientific specialists,” says the astronaut. - The aliens have incomparably more advanced technology. I see. But their technique is by no means supernatural. And there is no reason why earthlings cannot reach the same level.

Mitchell assures that aliens, at least those who are now visiting Earth, are not dangerous. According to the astronaut, they are like us. And they do not differ much from the traditional image known from films and drawings: the aliens are small, with large heads.

BTW

The images transmitted to Earth clearly show the footprints of the Apollo 14 astronauts

45 years ago, astronauts Shepard and Mitchell nearly got lost on the moon, walking to the nearest crater. But for some reason they did not find him. The American automatic probe LRO solved the riddle - in the images transmitted to it, you can see where the astronauts actually wandered.

According to plans, Shepard and Mitchell were to make a one and a half kilometer hike to Cone Crater ("Cone"), located northeast of the landing site. On the second day, the astronauts went there and went with a handcart on inflatable wheels. However, they never found the crater. They strayed, determining the direction of movement along the Sun, and measuring the distance traveled with the thumb of their outstretched hand - they compared the apparent size of the lunar module with it. And they returned by order from Houston.

LRO images of the Apollo 14 landing site show the tracks of two people and the wheels of a cart. It turns out that the unlucky travelers passed only 30 meters from the edge of the crater. But they did not notice it because of the surrounding hills.

The LRO image also shows a bizarre light rock, which the astronauts named Saddle Rock ("Saddle Rock") - this rock is also in the pictures they took. She stands very close to the edge of the crater.
