Lon Strickler, an American researcher of anomalous phenomena (mostly strange creatures), recently received another letter from an eyewitness. The man said that in 2014 in South Dakota, he observed a strange white creature, similar to a hybrid of a bird and a person.
“It happened on June 9, 2014, when I was visiting a friend of mine in South Dakota. Night fell, it was quiet and boring, and at about 2 o'clock we decided to go to our friends in the countryside to visit. We sat with them outside the house for a while, listened to music, drank a little beer, and then I got tired, we got into the car and decided to return to our place.
There was a vacant lot not far from the house of our acquaintances, and now we are driving past it at low speed, trying to find some good song on the radio and not paying much attention to the road. But suddenly I noticed a creature ahead on the side of the road, which at first reminded me of a dog.
It sat hunched over as if it were eating on the ground. The closer we got to it, the less it resembled a dog, and suddenly when our headlights hit it, it turned its head towards us and the next instant it got to its feet and it became clear that it looked like a man.
But that was not human. When we drove past it and it was on the side of our car, I saw that it was something like a bird-man with feathers and it was white. It all took a few seconds when we saw it, but I remember many details. His entire body was covered with strange feathers and he had very long fingers 8 or 9 inches long (20-22 cm).
We were very excited and at that moment, when we almost slowed down at the sight of the creature, my friend shouted “Let's go, let's go!”. At the same time, the creature shook itself in a strange way and some kind of fringe swayed on its body. It was like a porcupine shaking its quills. And after that the creature screamed so loudly!
I stepped on the gas and tried to get out of there as far as possible. I was so worried that I drove past the prohibition signs, deciding to quickly get to the city. Only the city was far away and I stopped when I decided that we were now safe. I still get excited when I remember this. I sat there and cried and we had to spend the night right in the car and think a lot about what happened.
I realized that our acquaintances must have heard a very loud scream of this creature, it was very close to their house, but when I asked them about it later, they said that they had not heard anything. They only said that they saw how we drove away from their house and that's it.

Lon Strickler made a comment on this story that it looks like what happened near the Sioux reservation, and the monster he saw is described as similar to their mythical creature or one of their spirits, but Strickler is not sure about this.
