21st century from the birth of Christ. This is important because there were people even before the "Birth of Christ".
And so - the 21st century. Humanity has reached a new technological level. We consider ourselves an advanced civilization. We have technologies that science fiction writers only dreamed of 100 years ago. We fly into space, send probes to other planets, we know that the earth is round.
We are a developed society and we have the power that writes the laws and the guardians of them. And we seem to be all equal in our rights. But if you look closely, it turns out that “civilization” and “law” end exactly outside the border of megacities. Small towns and villages still live in the early 20th century. And this difference between the city and the countryside is so huge that sometimes it does not fit in my head.

I just wondered, how can we be surprised at what is happening in the west? After all, we are not much better. They have blacks there, and here we have Tajiks, Kazakhs and Azerbaijanis with Armenians … And they are all angry at each other and at the "white people". Nationality is still important for us.
Two thousand years by the new reckoning, and we are still fighting race wars. Yes, the second Hitler has not yet appeared … But have we gone so far from his ideas? Are we sure that we are not taking leaps and bounds along his path?
Religious Wars

Religious wars are still being waged. The most striking example is the "Islamists". Their "jihad" is based on religious dogmas. And, as for me, this is no different from the crusades, the purpose of which was to convert to their religion and destroy all unbelievers. I don't see the difference. And you?
Christianity, imposed on our people in the past, began to split again. However, like our people themselves. Church schism on the basis of political issues - isn't that idiocy in its purest form?
Fear is to blame
Humanity is still divided, fragmented into groups. Social, racial, religious. And everyone is at war with each other. With all our technological progress, socially and morally, we remain at the level of the 19th and 20th centuries, if not more.
We are still guided by a lower instinct. Fear is at the core of every decision we make. We are still afraid of what we do not understand. We still make decisions based on fear. We are still afraid of our own kind, who differ from us in skin color or religious beliefs. So what about the other species?
But we are diligently seeking life on other planets. We are eager to meet with representatives of other intelligent species. What for? To kick your pants and try and destroy them?
Humanity is still unable to accept their own kind. Do you think it can accept intelligent representatives of a different species? If I were a reasonable representative of a different species, I would never go to contact people.
