On this day, on a farm in Sumner County, Tennessee, two of David's children, Sarah and George, were playing in the yard, and the man himself went out onto the porch with his wife Emma. Then he went to check the horses in the pasture, but noticing the approaching carriage of a friend - August Pak, turned around and waved his hand in greeting. At that very moment, in front of his wife, two children and a friend, David disappeared. His wife was frightened and screamed in horror. Everyone immediately rushed to that place, suggesting that the man simply fell into a deep hole, but the ground in that place was level, there was no hole nearby. A careful search, which brought in more people, did not return any results.
A couple of months later, the children of David and Emma, at the very place where their father disappeared, found unusual traces - in a small area the grass turned yellow, which took the shape of a circle with a diameter of 4.5 meters. For many years this place remained untouched, and even the weather conditions did not change its appearance (the grass did not grow and remained the same color).
Many years later, this story was criticized because there was no reliable evidence of the existence of the Lang family in history. But there were also those who believed that David was in another dimension, allegedly, therefore, his children heard, but could not see. And he himself, having lost faith in returning home, wandered through the invisible worlds of a subtle plane. Of course, the entire mysterious disappearance story remains only speculation and a popular legend in America. It is noteworthy that in 1880, newspapers were published about Lang's disappearance more than once. This news gave rise to many rumors, but in the absence of evidence, it remained a mystical tale.
