From these records, it is clear that the dwarf people were well versed in agriculture and knew grain crops.
In the 187th volume of the Tang Dynasty Encyclopedia "Tongyan" it is said that during the Late Han Dynasty (947-950) people met dwarfs.
In the 86th volume "History of the Late Han Dynasty" it is written that more than 3 thousand dwarfs became vassals of the Han dynasty and presented ivory, buffalo, buffalo and others as a tribute to the emperor.
In ancient China, dwarfs were called differently, but most often they were described as "the tanned tribe." Some scientists believe that the dwarfs were dark-skinned or dark-skinned.

Ji Yun (1724-1805), a scholar of the Qing dynasty, in his book Notes from the Great in Small Hut, writes that in the remote mountains of Urumqi, herders often see little people about one chi (about 35 cm) tall, men and women, old people and children.
Whenever a tamarix is in bloom, these little men break off the branches, make wreaths out of them and put them on their heads, and they all sing and dance together. Their voices are thin and melodic.

Sometimes dwarfs enter the homes of ordinary people and steal food. If they are caught, the little men kneel down and cry quietly, begging for mercy.
If they are tied up, they refuse food and die of hunger. If you let them go, they do not dare to immediately run away, at first they slowly pass several chi, while constantly looking back.
If they find that someone is cursing after them, they immediately kneel down again and tearfully beg forgiveness. Once they are at a safe distance, they quickly hide.
People could not find the place of settlement of little people in any way. Ji Yun wrote that they are not evil spirits and not monsters, but they look like the very dwarfs mentioned in ancient books.
Since the figures of the little men looked like children, and besides, they loved to wear tamariks, Ji Yun called them "children of tamariks."
Dwarfs in tree hollows
A merchant named Qiu Duan lived on the island of Macau, who often sailed to different countries. One day his merchant ship was caught in a storm. Among the huge waves, the team made out the outlines of the island and hurried to stick to it to shelter from the wind and waves.
The storm soon subsided. Qiu Duan stepped onto the island and saw many dry trees. One tree with ten girths was full of holes. Looking more closely, Qiu Duan saw small people inside, only seven or eight tsun (about 23-27 cm) tall.
There were women and men, old people and children, beautiful and not so beautiful. They all had chestnut-colored skin.
The men had knives, bows and arrows at their belts. Upon seeing Qiu Duan, they spoke in unison in an incomprehensible language.
Qiu Duan squatted down, lit a cigarette, and suddenly heard a noise coming from above. He raised his head and saw a small city built of black stone on top of a dead tree.
When the gates of the city opened, thousands of dwarfs came out to meet him. The little men walked shoulder to shoulder, waving flags and uttering a war cry.
Among them was a young man with regular facial features, on his head he had a golden crown, on his body there was a silver chain mail, he, riding a chicken, menacingly commanded an army of dwarfs. The crowd shouted something back and raised their weapons.
Qiu Duan was amazed to realize that he was being chased away. After all, the men were too small to inspire fear.
The young commander saw that Qiu Duan was not reacting in any way, and began swinging his spear. Immediately, small arrows, spears and knives flew at Qiu Duan, their blows were quite painful.
Qiu Duan got angry and wanted to laugh at the young leader. He lightly hit him with a smoking pipe. He fell from the chicken to the ground and died. Little men lifted his body, carried him into the city and closed the gates tightly. All the other dwarfs rushed into the hollows. Qiu Duan also returned to the ship.
So are giants and dwarfs not a legend, but a reality?
