If earlier we were frightened with acid precipitation, now scientists have reported that plastic is waiting for us in addition to everything else. Moreover, they are already running in almost all places on our planet. This was reported by ecologists from the University of Utah, who conducted research in several areas of the United States. According to them, humanity will face a global ecological catastrophe.

American researchers analyzed rainwater for 14 months and found that more than 1,000 tons of microplastics pollute eleven US conservation states annually. This equates to nearly 120 million plastic water bottles. Moreover, this is happening in the protected areas of the country, which occupy only 6 percent of its area. If you imagine what is happening on a global scale, the picture looks even more shocking.

The spread of microplastics across the planet occurs almost instantly, and they end up in the ecologically cleanest regions of the planet, for example, the Arctic, or the French Pyrenees.

Particles of microplastics enter the oceans and destroy deep-sea ecosystems, and then land on the ground in the sea breezes. Plastic particles fall out in the form of plastic rain. This type of precipitation will become a significant problem for humanity in the future. The most frightening thing in this situation is that by 2030 the volume of plastic waste will increase to 460 million tons per year. At the same time, the number of consumers of this type of product is growing at an alarming rate. Most of all, this applies to developing countries.

Environmentalists warn that microscopic plastic negatively affects the environment and the animal world. In addition, he is able to provoke the emergence of new types of microbes, against which humanity may not have protection.

Microplastic does not disappear anywhere, but constantly circulates through various systems on land, in water and air. The more microscopic plastic becomes, the more serious problem humanity faces. However, this issue still remains unresolved, since too many people in the life of people are associated with this material, and it is very difficult to refuse it.
