Despondency is mentioned in biblical texts as a mortal sin, and a very serious one. In various oriental treatises, despondency and sadness were considered the cause of many diseases.
Ancient Chinese medicine considers a person's good mood to be the most important factor for curing a disease. Special practices of meditative healing laughter exist in Buddhism, Sufism, and Taoism. And in India, hasya yoga or laughter yoga appeared and spread throughout the world - this is the direction of yoga, the main purpose of which is to cause laughter, which cures diseases.
Traditional medicine also recognizes laughter therapy - in many Western clinics (and more recently in Russian) there are volunteer clowns who entertain patients, causing them to laugh. And those people who laugh really recover faster, and this is scientifically proven.

A study was conducted at the University of California Medical Center on the effects of laughter on the immune system. Some of the patients started showing comedies every day. Later it turned out that their cortisol levels decreased and the immune system was activated. In addition, the number of T-lymphocytes fighting viruses increased in patients.
It has also been found that laughter has an analgesic effect. At the University of Oxford, they conducted the following experiment - the experimental people measured the pressure by squeezing the arm too tightly with the cuff of the tonometer, so that they experienced pain.
At the same time, some of the people later showed funny films, and others - sad ones. It turned out that the pain of those who watched the comedy went away almost immediately, unlike those who plunged into sad stories. Analyzes of the subjects showed that after laughing, the amount of endorphins in their blood increases, and it is they who have an analgesic effect.

How can this knowledge affect our lives? Each person can independently choose - he will cry or laugh. If instead of watching television shows dedicated to various scandals, troubles, terrible events that only spoil the mood, we choose comedy, then we will become healthier.
There are many funny programs, funny videos on the Internet, humorous shows, relevant entertainment sites, newspapers, magazines. The more you laugh, the less time you have left for illness, suffering, and thinking that everything is bad.
Sometimes it happens that this or that situation seems hopeless to a person. But then he goes to the movies or watches something funny at home, and after an hour and a half of healthy laughter, he suddenly finds a solution to his problem. Therefore, it is very useful to switch off in this way for absolutely all people, even healthy ones, in order to overload the brain, so that the world does not seem hopeless, and the problems are unsolvable.
It's also important to surround yourself with cheerful, not dull people. After talking with the latter, we begin to feel unhappy, it seems to us that everything is bad around. If there are a lot of sad and depressed people around you, then there is very little chance that you yourself will be happy and healthy.
Therefore, you need to avoid them to the maximum. And try yourself in every possible way to be charged with fun, positive emotions, positive.
Moreover, a person who decided to change his minus to plus then changes his life completely - cheerful people are more likely to find themselves a good job, arrange a personal life, make friends.
Of course, sad emotions are also important for our psyche. Man is like the earth: fun is the sun, and sadness is rain. If the sun shines all the time, the earth will be scorched. But if it rains all the time, the earth will turn into a swamp. For some reason, most people voluntarily plunge into the swamp: they choose everything sad from the world around them - depressed people, films, news, programs.
