The petroglyphs on the walls of the Caucasus dolmens have remained unsolved for many centuries. What did the ancient builders want to tell us? Continuing the topic of dolmens, let's try to perceive the information through the prism of the stated hypothesis. We will only change the approach to deciphering the figures.

Images are not often found, mainly on the walls of tiled dolmens with cameras of regular shape in the form of a parallelepiped or cube. There are known cases of the presence of drawings on the outside of the facade wall and the ends of the side portals. Sometimes the design is found on only one or two walls, and sometimes it is applied around the perimeter of the chamber. It must be admitted that not all dolmens were awarded such creativity in the process of their assembly. Drawings made much later are applied to the walls of buildings in sufficient numbers. They are distinguished by a different way of execution and content. We will not consider such images.

What do they draw on dolmens?

The main plot of the drawings is zigzag lines and triangles in one or more rows. Vertical lines are made in several parallel rows, and horizontal lines - in one, rarely in two rows.

Above the horizontal ones there are drawn vertical Λ-shaped lines - "herringbone"

Sometimes we find "bold points" - circles of small diameter, one or two, symmetrically placed above the portals.

Look at the root! (Kozma Prutkov)

Dolmen researchers, trying to understand the meaning of the images, most often reduce the theme of the drawings to the burial ritual and the transition to the afterlife. There are also original interpretations describing the deluge or the principles of operation of "space weapons". Time will tell who is right.

In search of common sense, we will consider GRAFFITI as pictograms. Why is that? It's easy to explain.

Following an understandable logic, we can conclude that the builders of dolmens left the information just for us, passing it on through the centuries. Assuming the long-term operation of the buildings, they could not count on a common culture or language similarity in the distant future. Under these conditions, pictograms are the best choice.

If we follow the proposed hypothesis about the intended purpose of dolmens, then it can be assumed that vertical broken lines in four, five or six rows can denote infrasound waves coming from the ground to the structure. The number of these parallel lines indicates the power of the wave or its amplitude. The same lines, placed horizontally in the form of hills, indicate the earthquake itself. The periods of these waves are arbitrary and unpredictable, and they were drawn that way.

A horizontal single line in the form of triangles or zigzags could represent a wave originating in the device chamber, it is parallel to the surface and, accordingly, perpendicular to the incoming wave. It is drawn in a clear period and a smaller shape than the vertical one. The number of triangles around the perimeter is proportional to the length of the chamber walls. This fact prompts the idea that the builders indicated the exact acoustic characteristics of the resonator chamber with their template. The Λ-shaped vertical lines, in our opinion, have a similar meaning, but in a different notation.

“Bold points” probably denoted the number of resonant frequency harmonics sounding in the dolmen.

The figures show the sign of intersection of lines in a circle, which in the well-known interpretation is called the "Celtic Cross". Such a figure, in our opinion, describes the principle of operation of the megalith - the connection in the chamber-circle of two acoustic waves: long vertical and short horizontal. Such a cross is a sign of the dolmen designation or a symbol of its intended purpose!

It can be concluded that the drawings on the dolmens are of an applied technical nature. The builders “marked” their product. We do the same by placing a tag with a name and a brief description.

This information is necessary for setting up and / or further maintenance of structures. At its core, this is a device passport and operating instructions. A very practical solution! Such a "document" is able to outlive its object.

All ingenious is simple

I must admit that engineers in the antediluvian time were not so naive and simple. Their simplicity borders on wisdom. They were able to create technical structures, the operation of which is designed for many centuries. And knowing this, we tried to convey the concept of their structures to future generations in the most rational and accessible way.

Is it possible to actually "translate" the images into understandable language? Having taken possession of the key, you can open any door. The key for deciphering drawings on dolmens is the unit of time used in those days. But this topic requires a separate article.
