Michael Rockefeller was not the "golden boy" of his father, America's richest citizen, Nelson Rockefeller. He studied at the university, served in the army - everything is like people. And then, while his father was busy with politics (at that time he was the governor of New York), he went on an expedition to New Guinea. It was in the fall of 1961.
The place, I must say, is very exotic - the descendants of billionaires rarely get here. Michael in the tribes was greeted with disposition, willingly exchanged their ritual and household artifacts for shiny rattles brought by him.
But Michael, of course, did not want to take samples of the same type. He wanted the rarest, and therefore the best and most expensive. Those valuable artifacts that Rockefeller Jr. dreamed of were in the lost tribe of asthmatics …

It ended almost fatally. The raft capsized and the people barely made it to the shore. These places were also famous for their man-eating crocodiles, so Michael's associates were still lucky. Rockefeller himself disappeared.
Until now, the official version of the reasons for the disappearance of the richest heir in the world has not been approved. It is believed, however, that he was eaten by cannibals, asthmatics, to whom he went for artifacts.
If so, then this can be taken as a final tribute - the cannibals of New Guinea eat a person out of great respect for him.
