About the creation of a program for the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, the decoding of the space signal "Wow!" experts on the topic of extraterrestrial contacts Yuri Grigoriev and Anna Azhazha told the editor-in-chief of Pravda.ru, Inna Novikova, how to establish contact with aliens.

Just "Wow!"

You have created a program for the search for extraterrestrial civilizations. Tell us about her, please

AA: The program for the search for extraterrestrial civilizations was created not by us, but by the United States of America. New York has an astrophysics-related SETI program that is seriously looking for signals from space. Over the past few years, about 400 signals have been received, but no one in SETI is involved in decoding. We found out that these messages are decrypted not in English, but in Russian.

The most mysterious signal received in the United States in 1977 is "Wow!" Using cryptography, we figured out its meaning:

  • warning of an impending global catastrophe,
  • a hint that the level of human intelligence is not yet adequate to get in touch with a more developed

Signal "Wow!" very short. How could so much information fit in it?

Promotional video:

Yu. G.: With the help of cryptography, a lot of information can be extracted from a small volume, as from an archived file. Plus, the information already at our disposal was tied to this signal.

The main message was the message that humanity is being tested for the ability to maintain contact. Naturally, in 1977, the earthlings did not pass this test. Since then, the signal has not been decoded.

We were able to do this only in 2010. Before one of the conferences they found the signal "Wow!" and in fact it was deciphered in a day. Decryption is still going on, but the main message is known: a test for the ability to communicate and a warning about an impending catastrophe, to which we have come as close as possible.

Who received this signal, where was it recorded and where is it located? What does it look like? Is it radio waves or something else?

AA: Yes, waves. Scientists believe that the signal was from the constellation Sagittarius, that is, from the center of our Galaxy.

Yu. G.: The signal was received using a radio telescope at the Ohio State University observatory. Now there is a museum of this signal. The film "Contact" based on the novel by Carl Sagan, who participated in sending a signal into space in Arecibo in 1974, was made on this topic.

Did they know about UFOs in the USSR

In Soviet times, scientists were engaged in secret developments on this topic. Although, of course, such information was not advertised. And now in Russia no one is dealing with this problem?

AA: In the 60s, research institutes were created on the wave of interest in space topics. Our father, the founder of Soviet ufology, Vladimir Azhazha, often spoke at closed physics and astrophysical institutes.

In the 90s, the UFO Center was created, headed by Vladimir Azhazha. My father had close ties with the Soviet military: naval, ground forces, air defense. Bags of letters came to him from all over the Union and from other countries, in which people told about encounters with UFOs. It was about disks and balls that influenced the electromagnetic impulses of earthly technology, could stop the engines of machines, and influence human consciousness. In the 90s, books about these meetings began to be published, conferences held, but they did not enjoy success, and the topic of UFOs was transferred to the genre of mythology.

They ring, open the door

How can we get in touch and open the door? How can we respond?

Yu. G.: In 1974, from the Arecibo Observatory, scientists sent a radio signal to the constellation Hercules with information about man, Earth, technology - it was a request like "if there is someone, answer." Three years later, the answer came. It is logical that now they expect an answer from us. At the same time, representatives of another civilization observe how we react: they see us on the air. And we do nothing, we continue to call them green men, laugh and joke about this.

What do you think we should do? Send a spaceship?

Yu. G.: No, we just need a serious discussion on this topic.

The problem is that on the territory of the former Soviet Union fewer than ten people are involved in this issue, of which three or five are in Moscow. When we contacted these people specifically, they flatly refused to work with the information we provided. Astrophysicists have their own point of view on the signal from extraterrestrial civilizations, and they do not consider data from specialists from other spheres to be reliable.
