Many ancient Greeks wrote about Hyperborea. The Greeks argued that opposite the land of the Celts on the Ocean was an island no less than Sicily. This island is located in the north, and the Hyperboreans live on it, since it is located behind the north wind - Borea. Moreover, there was a certain route from Hyperborea to the island of Delos, which was not something like a route "from the Varangians to the Greeks", but which was still used by the ambassadors.
Modern science does not recognize the existence of Hyperborea and refers it to the myths about the countries of utopias. But could there really be such a land as Hyperborea? Why not? Here I did not make a reservation, calling Hyperborea a land, and not a country, since it was inhabited by at least two peoples. Hyperborea was depicted on maps by the ancient Greeks, but we will consider a map from the times of the Great Geographical Discoveries.
From the end of the 1400s, European expeditions to distant lands began to flourish. The kings equipped costly expeditions to distant lands in the hope of making good profits. And here a paradoxical situation developed, cartographers drew maps, and enthusiasts chose where to go. Surprisingly, cartographers did not hide the fact that they used ancient tools and willingly made changes after expeditions, which often worsened the maps.
And now on the world atlas written by the Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator there is a land called Hyperborea. Whiter than that, he gives her a description: “The island facing Greenland is the best and healthiest in the north; The island, facing Europe, is inhabited by pygmies about 4 feet tall, who are called Skerlingers in Greenland. An island overlooking Asia, and also the entire Tabin peninsula is inhabited by bargs."
And this very Tabin peninsula is interesting, since it is hidden by water. According to science, this peninsula has been hidden by water for 9-12 thousand years. It is logical to assume that the rest of the north, where the foot of the European has not yet set foot, was applied by Mercator from an unknown source.

And one more interesting feature of the northern lands. The Bering Strait was discovered in 1648, but it is not on the Mercator map! But on the map there is the Anian Strait, passing through the Lena River basin.
The question remains, if Hyperborea existed, then was it all covered with ice? If we remember that Atlantis was on the site of the Sargasso Sea, then the Guyana current could not be locked in the Atlantic Ocean, but completely rush to the north, carrying with it much more heat.
