Elia Saikali climbed Mount Everest while filming a documentary about four Arab women climbing, but was shocked by what he saw at the summit. More than 800 people have peaked this year, with at least 11 killed.
“I have climbed Everest three times. Am I thinking of going back? Not. What I saw on May 22nd was terrible. When we left the camp at 9:30 pm, after 20 minutes of ascent, we met the Sherpas who were dragging the dead climber down.
After 45 minutes of ascent, we met an Indian climber who was delirious and screaming, which are signs of acute altitude sickness.
About three hours after the start of the ascent, we were forced to literally walk over a dead climber.
It was incredibly strange … every climber who climbed to the top had to step over this person."
When the temperature dropped to minus 30 degrees, his group was forced to wait in the "death zone" to reach the top of the world's tallest mountain, while "50 or 60" other climbers at the summit stopped to take a selfie.

The Death Zone, an ice platform no wider than two ping-pong tables, is in the last few meters of the way to the summit. There is not enough oxygen to breathe at this altitude, so vital supplies are used up while climbers simply wait.
Too many people move around in too small a space, and too many of them don't know what they are doing.
“I was surprised at how many people were without the necessary equipment. They weren't supposed to be there. I was definitely not ready to see the corpses attached to the safety rope reaching the top. It was very difficult “
On the rise to the top of the world lies the corpse of a climber and everyone who goes to it steps over this body.
