In the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, 35-year-old Alexei Yastrebov was arrested on charges that he stabbed 27-year-old Yekaterina Nikiforova and cut out the larynx with a kitchen knife.
Then he carved and ate the heart and lung, cooking them on the stove in his cramped rented apartment. After that, he called Zhanna Avdeeva, the owner of the apartment, and told her:
“Call the police and an ambulance. I am lying in blood and next to me is a corpse."
When the paramedics arrived, he told them, "There is a heart prepared on the stove."
Before calling Avdeeva, Yastrebov tried to kill himself by sticking scissors in his neck, but failed. At the moment, he is under police protection in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
“This poor woman was lying in the room,” the owner of the premises told police, “Her chest was opened and her neck was cut off. I couldn't look at all this."
The victim, a single mother, had two daughters, aged seven and three.

Yevgeny Avdeev, 31, Jeanne's brother, said the alleged cannibal was a close friend of his and he never thought he could do such evil.
“My hair is standing on end,” Yevgeny told the police (pictured above), “I think they must have been drinking and there was a conflict.”
The police are also testing the drug version. Meanwhile, the owner of the apartment, Avdeeva (pictured below), said that she would call a priest to "cleanse" the apartment after the evil murder.
“It's a shock for me. It's like a nightmare. Everyone will know about it, all the neighbors. How do I continue to rent the apartment? I will invite a priest to say the necessary prayers."
