Ouija history
Ouija, dubbed "the talking board", has numbers from zero to ten, letters of the alphabet, and the words "yes", "no" and "goodbye" The Ouija board has a special tablet-pointer, which the spirits must guide over the surface, answering the questions of the participants in the ritual.
Ouija was created in the late nineteenth century by the American entrepreneur Elijah Bond. At first, the inventor positioned it as a mystical home game, claiming that "ouija" is translated as "luck" from the ancient Egyptian language. According to another version, the name of the board was composed of the French and German words "yes": "oui" and "ja", that is, "Ouija".
Some time later, the famous American spiritualist Pearl Curren popularized Ouija, but not as a home game, but as a board for seances. Elijah Bond was not at all opposed, since sales of the board after that increased several times. Many Americans wanted to try to summon the spirits of the dead at home. Ouija quickly became popular not only in America but also in many other countries.

The tablet is usually made from the same wood species and equipped with a magnifying glass. The classic shape for a pointer is an elongated heart, but today you can find many other options.
How to use Ouija
To evoke a spirit ready to answer your questions, you need to gather in a company of several people, go into a dark room at night, light candles or some other dim source of light and sit around Ouija. The tablet is placed in the middle of the "talking board" and everyone present touches it with their fingertips. After that, you need to ask the spirit to appear and make contact with people. An invisible guest from the other world must begin to move the pointer over the board and answer the questions of those present using numbers, letters of the alphabet and the words "yes-no". When spiritualists want to finish the ritual, they have to say goodbye to the spirit, who in turn will move the tablet to the inscription "goodbye".
Skeptics are convinced that if the pointer really starts to move on the board, then this is just the pampering of one of the participants, moving the tablet with his fingers or a magnet. Nevertheless, many people who have used UJ assure that spirits really are and can even give truthful answers to questions about the future.
Rules for summoning spirits using Ouija
If there are a few rules to follow when using the "talking board".
First, in no case should spirits be summoned alone. Secondly, you cannot try to talk to the late Hitler, Jack the Ripper and other nasty personalities. It is unlikely that their ghosts will actually visit you, however, such requests may interest evil entities with whom it is better not to contact. Thirdly, guests from the other world must be treated seriously and with respect. Fourthly, you cannot ask questions related to death, for example, about the time and reasons for your future death. And, fifthly, if the spirit does not want to answer any questions or communicate at all, you cannot beg him.
Be careful with the Ouija board
There is a widespread belief that only mediums and spiritualists should practice such sessions. An ordinary person who does not have sufficient knowledge and experience in this area can be negligent and incur misfortune or even death.
So, in 2003, seventeen-year-old Melissa Whitaker died in Nebraska. The high school student was found hanged in her own room.
