In late July and early August, an unknown animal devoured more than 80 rabbits in three farmsteads in the village of Dubrovka, Ternovsky District (Voronezh Region).

Judging by the claw marks on the wooden details of the cages and the turned-out latches and bars, a strong beast was acting on the courtyard. Residents of Dubrovka assumed that the dogs of a local hunter were working on their farmsteads.

Tired of the accusations from his fellow villagers, the man locked his greyhounds in an aviary for five days. During the time that the dogs were locked up, an unknown animal visited the farmsteads of three more Dubrovka residents - a total of 17 rabbits died.

And yesterday, on August 7, a resident of Dubrovka, Galina Markadanova, saw an animal that had been hunting rabbits in Dubrovka for two weeks. When Galina went out into the yard early in the morning, she saw that a large black animal was trying to break the cages.

Galina frightened off the animal, which, leaving the courtyard, rushed a few steps away from her. The frightened woman says that the creature, 70-80 cm tall, was simultaneously like "a kangaroo, a sheep and a dog." The owner of the courtyard assures that it was definitely not a dog.

Now the residents of Dubrovka, whose rabbits have survived so far, are thinking of organizing vigils to catch the beast that is ravaging their farmsteads.

A similar case was noted in the Podgorensk region. At the end of February, an unknown animal tore apart several sheep at the farmstead of a resident of the village of Semeyki. And his neighbor's dogs were patted. After that, local residents, who blamed the incident on wolves, feral dogs and even the mythical Chupacabra, organized a watch on the territory of the village. However, it was not possible to catch the beast.
