One of the few well-known Old Russian sources telling about the true history of our people is the "Legend of Slovenia and Ruse", according to which five brothers of the same princely Scythian family lived in ancient times. Their names were: Sloven, Rus, Bolgar, Kimr and Easter. And they lived somewhere in the Black Sea steppes.

But in the year 3099 from the creation of the world (2409 BC), it can be seen that they began to live closely together and the princes of Slovenes and Rus decided to look for new places to live far from their native Black Sea shores, and the rest of the brothers did not mind. It is not known for certain where they wandered for 14 years, but after this period their squads reached the shores of Lake Ilmen, where the two cities of Slovensk and Rusa were founded.

I draw the attention of supporters of the Norman version that these events took place as far back as 2395 BC. Much water has flown under the bridge since that time. For a long time that Slovensk is no longer, but not far from its location a new city was founded, which was called Novgorod, and then Veliky Novgorod. But Ruse was more fortunate, it is located in its old place and is now called Staraya Russa.

It is believed that the names of two tribes - the Rus and the Slovenes - originated from these Scythian princes. Those very Slovenes (not Slavs) who are mentioned by those living on the shores of Lake Ilmen also in the "Tale of Bygone Years" written by the Christian monk Nestor. Of course, it was beneficial for Christian monks to show that before the arrival of Christianity in Russia, our ancestors were "wild barbarians." But "The Legend of Slovenia and Ruse" confirms that they were not so wild, if already in the III millennium BC. built cities and had military squads, and hence their own statehood.

And obviously not because of their "savagery" in 862, their descendants called Rurik to their lands with his brothers, who were also not Scandinavians, but the Varangians "who are Rus" (as we have already written about), because the Vikings are not a nationality, but the name of the caste of professional warriors.

It is characteristic that they were looking for a prince who would rule over them by right. There are many indirect evidences of the existence at that time of a certain Overseas Rus (which we have already written about, and which existed, presumably, on Novaya Zemlya and the North of Siberia, where the direct descendants of the Arct-Hyperboreans lived), from where they were called to the Central Russian Plain by related tribes Rurik, Sineus and Truvor.

Obviously, the direct descendants of the Arct from the northern islands enjoyed indisputable authority among the continental Aryan tribes. And that is why the choice fell on Rurik and his brothers, who had to rule and judge fairly in order to end the disputes and civil strife among the tribes of Priilmenye.

The "Tale of Bygone Years" asserts that from these Varangians, who were "Rus" and all the tribes under their rule were also called "Russians", and their state "Rus". But it should be remembered that the ancestors of these tribes - the clans of Sloven and Rus - built their cities here 3257 years before the arrival of Rurik with his brothers.

Such “wild” and “uncivilized” were our distant ancestors, who, in addition to their statehood, also had their own writing long before its reform by the Byzantine monks Cyril and Methodius, who “cut off” the Old Russian initial letter (excluding some of the letters from it) and issued this “civilized "act for the" creation of Slavic writing. " Indeed, the official version of history, which we so diligently use from the pages of school and university textbooks, is a real distorting mirror of reality.
