In April 1961, a resident of Eagle River, Wisconsin spoke of his unusual encounter with a UFO and an alien. This story was so strange (even for such stories) that it was immediately considered just a fiction.
It happened on April 18, when farmer Joe Simonton was quietly having breakfast at his home. Suddenly his breakfast was interrupted by a thunderous sound, as if at least a rocket had passed near the house.
Joe rushed out into the yard in panic and saw not far from his chicken coop … a UFO disk, about ten meters in diameter, hovering above the ground at the height of the fence.
The UFO landed on the ground, after which a hatch opened in it and a short, 10-year-old creature in a body-tight jumpsuit emerged from there. Inside the UFO, Joe managed to notice several more exactly the same creatures.
The creature, despite its small stature, looked quite like a human and although it did not say anything, it communicated with gestures. It showed that he was "thirsty" and then John brought him a jug of water from the house.
And then, in return for water, these creatures were taken out of the UFO and presented to the farmer a lot of freshly baked and crispy … pancakes. As if they compensated him for an interrupted breakfast.
After that, the pilot said goodbye to Joe, showing an incomprehensible sign, such as a salute and the UFO crew flew into the sky.
Unsurprisingly, both ordinary people and ufologists have branded this story as a fake. Where has this been seen so that the aliens do not attack, abduct and perform operations on the anuses of poor earthlings, but give them a dish with fresh pancakes?

In fact, this has happened, and even more than once. Only not in stories about aliens, but in old tales about fairies and elves.
Some ufologists believe that modern mysteries with UFOs and aliens are the same as phenomena with fairies in the Middle Ages. Fairies abducted people in the same way, their time flowed differently and they also influenced the behavior and psyche of people.

In the book The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries, published in 1911, there is an Irish tale about a man named Pat (Paddy) Finn, who was once visited by a strange, short woman and asked him for a bag of oats for oatmeal porridge.
Paddy had no oats, but the good fellow offered the woman some potatoes in return. However, the woman continued to beg for oats. And then Paddy gave her not only potatoes, but everything edible that he had in the house.
Only then did the strange woman leave, but before that she asked Paddy not to enter his closet for 24 hours, as she would soon reimburse him for his kindness. Paddy obeyed, and when he finally looked into the closet, he saw that it was stuffed to the ceiling with sacks of oats.
In the poem by the English poet William Allingham of 1850 entitled "The Fairies" there is a mention of the fact that according to folk beliefs, fairies eat a special magical meal, which includes rich and delicious pancakes.
In the same poem, an unusual connection between fairies and owls is also indicated (ufologists have repeatedly met the same connection among those abducted by aliens).
