Everyone has heard of the mysterious images on the Nazca plateau. Researchers from different countries have spent a lot of time and effort studying them. But the secret remains a secret. It is still not known for certain how and for what purpose they were created.
The same can be said about the Palpa plateau, which has similar geoglyphs. It is located just a few tens of kilometers from Nazca. Perhaps the creators of both groups of geoglyphs were representatives of the same civilization.
Despite the obvious parallels between Palpa and Nazca, they also have differences. First of all, this concerns the territories where both plateaus are located. If Nazca is located on almost flat terrain, then Palpa is on a hilly … Besides, on Palpa you can see figures that have no analogues on Nazca.
It is believed that Palpa's geoglyphs were created by representatives of a culture that existed here long before the Incas. It flourished around 800 BC. e. - 300 AD e. Why they created large figures on the surface of the plateau remains unclear. It can only be assumed that their goals were the same as those of the creators of the Nazca geoglyphs.
One strange fact is curious. Researcher Maria Reiche spent many years exploring the Nazca plateau. But for some reason she never mentioned the figures of Palpa in her works! Could this be an accident? Hardly. Although what was the point of being silent about Palpa's geoglyphs? Unclear.
On this plateau, a dozen figures were found depicting a person (or a humanoid creature). Nazca has only one such geoglyph.

One of the most intricate drawings of Palpa is the eight-pointed star. It is created from two superimposed squares to form a shape. Moreover, in the middle there are also circles and two rectangles.
There is also a kind of "clock", which are two spirals connected to a zigzag strip. They seem to be placed in a perpendicular triangle without hypotenuse. Experts say that the time can be determined by the rays of the sun falling on this composition. But why do it in such a tricky way? It remains unclear.
The process of creating figures is also a mystery. There should have been traces of paths that lead to the plateau. But none of this is there. One gets the impression that someone "drew" geoglyphs from the air (?). This gives rise to hypotheses related to representatives of alien intelligence. By the way, Erich von Daniken, a well-known supporter of the theory of paleocontact, drew public attention to Palpe.
