Publishing articles on the history of the Slavs and Russes, I often encounter rejection of the antiquity of our history. Some do not know or do not want to believe in a much longer history of the statehood of our ancestors, in contrast to the officially recognized castrated period.
"Well, our ancestors could not be so smart and strong!" they argue. Nomad shepherds could create a Great Empire, impoverished Europeans, too, bare-footed Romans and Greeks simply had to, and our ancestors, no way … I call it historical masochism.

On December 20, 1700, Peter the Great, who hated everything Russian, decided to change the reckoning of years in Russia. Prior to this, chronology was conducted from the date of the Creation of the World in the Star Temple 7208 years ago (relative to 1700). It is believed that this is the date of the end of the Great War of the Power of the Great Race (territory of modern Russia) over the empire of the Great Dragon (territory of modern China).
There is a theory that the symbolic image of a rider on a white horse striking a dragon with a spear, known in Christian tradition as St. George the Victorious, in fact symbolizes just this victory. There are two obvious things to note:

In any case, the chronology is real - there is a huge amount of indisputable evidence. And the event of the Creation of the World in the Star Temple is also mentioned (even in cleaned up and rewritten) documents and material monuments. Why was it called the new year, and not summer, as was customary in Russia? At the court of Peter I, Russian was hardly spoken, as it was considered the language of the common people. Basically, all communication was in German and Dutch.
So, the word God in these languages means God. That is, by his decree, Peter made his subjects congratulate each other on the New God, on the day of his circumcision. This strange Peter's joke still exists, and people, having lost their original meaning, continue on January 1st to congratulate each other on the New circumcised God, and not on the New Year, as it was before.

The reasons
The official reason is the ease of alignment with the European calendar. Peter tried to transfer the Western order to impose on Russia, even if they deeply contradicted the moral convictions and values of the Slavs. But this reason does not explain Peter's actions to destroy the written history of Russia, his derogatory attitude towards Russian traditions.
It is more likely that this was done in order to oblivious to the great past of the people inhabiting the Eurasian Empire (Scythia, Tartaria, Russian Empire, Russian Federation). Substantiate the Western assertion about the barbarity of the ignorance and savagery of the Slavs, who must be led, taught and led where the Western world needs to go.
And to some extent, he succeeded. Until now, in Russia, a large number of people consider the antiquity of the Slavs to be nonsense, they are ready to pour mud on their ancestors, humiliate and insult their memory, as well as people who do not agree with this. Their motto can be considered the words of Academician Likhachev: “Why disassemble what was before Christianity, this thousand years will be enough for us” - the slavish position of historical masochists.
