Rockwell Bain, a thirty-four-year-old resident of the United States, has been searching for various monsters from American folklore, urban legends, black traditions and even children's horror stories for a long time.

Unfortunately, the other day a woman died under the wheels of a train. The death of the monster hunter is shrouded in a real aura of mysticism, since she died, having gone alone in search of a mythical creature that was just luring people onto the railroad.

Mystical creature Popelick

In the vicinity of the city of Louisville, Kentucky, there is a section of the railroad track, on which only freight trains run. According to local beliefs, a dangerous creature called Popelik lives in the forest near this place. Popelick has the head, arms and torso of a man, but his face is always hidden behind long thick hair - only large fierce eyes are visible. The monster has goat legs - they allow Popelik to move at high speed.

The monster hunts for lonely tourists and people who are lost in the forest. Instead of lashing out at his victims and tearing them apart, Popelick hypnotizes the unfortunate and forces them to throw themselves under trains. The monster then eats the remains. And thirst quencher Popelick, as many Louisville residents will assure you, is always on the creek nearby. Due to this, the watercourse is considered an unkind place, and it is strongly not recommended to drink from there.

Such a legend did not arise out of nowhere. On the above-mentioned section of the railway, tragedies do often occur. Four people were shot down here this year, including Rockwell Bain. Experts say that it's all about the winding road and poor acoustics. The steel track is located between the hills, and strong winds are constantly observed here. When the wind blows in the direction opposite to the direction of the train movement, it is almost impossible to hear the train, even if the driver turns on the warning horn. Hence the alleged constant accidents.

A mystical monster or just an accident?

Some eyewitnesses claim that they saw Popelick with their own eyes, however, away from the railway. In such stories, the mythical creature most often looks out from the trees, determining whether people are walking towards the rail. Paranormal researchers suggest that the monster's hypnotic skills are limited, and it is able to lure under trains only those individuals who come close to the railway track. It turns out that in order to avoid such an unenviable fate, it is enough just to stay away from the steel track, and if you cross it, then certainly quickly and with full awareness of what you are doing at this moment. That is, to be, as psychologists say, here and now, and not to be in the clouds.

The remains of Rockwell Bain were not eaten, but the police found that the woman was run over by a train in broad daylight. No drugs or alcohol were found in her blood. Law enforcement officers who have conducted a thorough investigation rule out premeditated murder.

They, of course, mean the killing of an American woman by the hands of some other person. However, what about the mysterious Popelik? Will the police look for evidence to incriminate him? Most probably not…
