The valley, which is located near the city of Hessdalen, is famous for a rare phenomenon - wandering lights, first seen at the end of the Second World War.

This phenomenon occurs in other parts of the world, but in this place it occurs more often than in the rest - about 15-20 times a year. According to the elders living in the valley, the Hessdalen lights appeared a couple of times every ten years, but their frequency has increased markedly since 1981.

This excited people and many experts from all over the world began to study the Norwegian phenomenon. But neither the best minds on the planet, nor professional equipment have brought tangible results. It was only possible to establish that the "lights" are divided into three types.

The first type included short-term small white or blue flares that could appear in the sky anywhere. The second type is yellow or yellowish-white lights that have been observed over rooftops or in the sky. They could sometimes hang motionless in place for about an hour, and only then move slowly. The third type is round lights with a most often red rim, which were at the same distance from each other.

The fact that sometimes the observed lights were not recorded by radars suggests that the energy that forms this phenomenon lies beyond the current knowledge of mankind.

And to this day, science is unable to explain the origin of the mysterious celestial glow, but the desire to find out the truth pushes people to build all kinds of theories: from the riddle of nature to supernatural signs and signals from space.
