The results of ice drilling in Antarctica and Greenland can serve as an independent confirmation of the hypothesis that other civilizations existed on Earth before us and that the history of the planet in the Cenozoic (at least during the Quaternary period) was the history of wars that led to the replacement of some civilizations by others.

According to research by scientists from the Institute for Polar Research in Ohio (USA), who analyzed the layers of continental ice in Greenland and Antarctica, ice formed 14 thousand years ago contains, respectively, a hundred and four times more solid impurities than ice that formed today. According to academician V. M. Kotlyakov, in the Pleistocene core from the American Byrd station (Antarctica, Mary Byrd Land) the concentration of solid impurities is 8 times higher than in ice younger than 10 thousand years old. In the Pleistocene core from the Russian Vostok station (Antarctica, the region of the south magnetic pole), this difference reaches 30 times.
Thus, in certain periods of Quaternary history, which preceded the Pleistocene-Holocene global catastrophe and the associated last Great Flood (about 12 thousand years ago), the air on Earth was dirtier than it is now in the modern industrial era. Most scientists believe that the reason for this pollution is either active volcanoes, or the increased circulation of air and the transfer of dust to the polar regions during the ice ages. It is much easier to admit, however, that earlier there were more industrialized civilizations than ours. This is reflected in the ice of Antarctica and Greenland.

Drilling ice in Antarctica and Greenland also provides a better understanding of the nature of the events that took place during the disasters. Thus, the ratio of the content of isotopes O16 / O18 and H / H2 indicates that everywhere in polar latitudes (and in Antarctica and Greenland) 10-11 thousand years ago, the temperature increased by about 10 ° C, and during the transition from the Dnieper glaciation to the Mikulino interglacial (about 130 thousand years ago) by 12 ° C. In addition, during these short periods of the history of our planet, concentrations of carbon dioxide and methane in its atmosphere increased significantly. This could be due to the intensification of volcanic activity and the release of a large amount of greenhouse gases, and to the fires raging on the Earth.

At the same time, the results of ice drilling in Antarctica show that the currently observed increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is unprecedented over the past 800 thousand years (25% for CO2, 100% for CH4, 8-10% for NO2 over the last 200 years), and the total content of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere (more than 379.1 ppm of carbon dioxide) is now 30% higher than in the last several million years (taking into account data obtained from land). This may indicate that modern civilization is developing along a path different from its predecessors, associated, first of all, with the consumption and combustion of organic fuel, which did not exist before. Perhaps that is why oil and natural gas have survived to this day.
