In the Netherlands, an unusual incident occurred that caught the attention of not only ordinary people, but, naturally, animal advocates. "Courageous", as journalists write, a cow named Hermiena escaped from a truck that brought her along with dozens of relatives to the slaughterhouse, and safely disappeared into the nearby forest.

The freedom-loving animal has been living there since December last year. The horned runaway is not given into the hands of the owners and other people, hiding in the more often every time she is raided. It is hard to believe that such a seemingly stupid animal has such a great craving for life. Or maybe not so stupid?

When Hermien became known to the general public, she became a real star of Dutch social networks. Local media turned the cow into a symbol of the desire for freedom and organized a massive campaign to support it. Even members of the royal family have joined the animal protection movement. Thus, the husband of Princess Margaret of the Netherlands, Peter van Vollenhoven, wrote on Twitter that such an extraordinary beast must be rescued without fail. Caring residents of the country have already collected over 50 thousand euros to buy a cow from the owner. There is only one problem: to catch Hermiena. The cow avoids people and quickly runs deep into the forest if it feels danger.

It is worth noting that lately, the cows of Europe have shown rebellious moods as never before. For example, not so long ago in Poland, an unnamed cow ran away from a farm to join the herd of wild bison, in which she still lives. And in the Czech Republic, several cows trampled and gored the cruel owner to death, and then tried to escape to the reserve. Unfortunately, unsuccessfully …
