The media of Kyrgyzstan wrote about the following stories in different years, some of them we recorded from eyewitnesses.
White ovoid object
Many years later, a Bishkek resident recalls how he saw an unidentified flying object in his childhood.
“In 1992 I came to the village of Issyk-Kul region to visit my grandparents. To earn a little money, my brothers and I went to shearers to shear sheep. The road ran through the field. Once, on the way to work, we saw something strange: a white, egg-shaped flying object hovered in the sky. In Soviet times, it was impossible to see the balloon. And there was no such equipment that it could hang for so long without propellers and screws. Many years have passed, and it seems that my memory is playing a cruel joke on me. However, when we talk with the brothers, we understand that our memories coincide,”said an eyewitness.
Large sphere
In February 1990, in the Ak-Suu gorge near Issyk-Kul, local shepherds saw a large sphere at a distance of 700 meters. The object split into four parts, which flew in different directions to reunite in half a minute. This was repeated three times, and then the sphere disappeared.

KGB officers meet UFO
On June 20, 1990, an expedition of scientists, military personnel, civilians, KGB officers and ufologists observed a triangular unidentified flying object on Lake Issyk-Kul. They said that he had bright fluorescent lamps, and the height reached 20 meters. The UFO moved at low altitude, and then turned around and just disappeared.
Four planes had engine failures
An unidentified flying object 600 meters long and 110 meters in diameter appeared on the screens of a tracking radar station on the Mangyshlak peninsula on August 28, 1991. For reconnaissance, four combat aircraft were sent from the headquarters: the pilots reported that the object resembled a huge gray airship. However, in the area of Lake Issyk-Kul, the pursuit had to be stopped - the engines of the aircraft began to fail.
Strange "cigar"
Residents of the Issyk-Kul region spoke of strange elongated objects in the sky. They looked like dark clouds, but they glowed unnaturally. Later people christened them "cigars". They were characterized by a brightly glowing green beam.
Object disintegrated into thousands of pieces
UFOs are reported by fishermen who go out to catch their catch at night. According to them, unidentified objects often appear in the sky. They either glow in the dark, or quickly fly through the dark sky, scattering into thousands of fragments.
Burning crosses
One of the observations of an unidentified flying object at Issyk-Kul was recorded in the form of burning crosses. Believers immediately began to talk about the manifestation of divine power, and ufologists recorded information about the crosses as one of the indirect evidence of the existence of UFOs.
Blue rays were looking for something on the ground
However, even the priests say that they saw unidentified flying objects over Issyk-Kul.
“Once my wife and I saw that a black oblong 'cloud', similar to an airship, covered the stars and floated over the mountains. From it came bluish rays, as if looking for something. The "cloud" slowly moved for about 15 minutes, and then disappeared, "said Father Mikhail.
Most often UFOs are seen by fishermen
“During the night fishing, there is so much to see. At two o'clock in the morning, my companion and I saw a bluish-green glow over the southern edge of the mountains. And a moment later they noticed in it some object, similar to a cigar, only huge and with multi-colored lights. It flew over our heads and made strange sounds, similar to electric welding. And then it flared up brightly and broke up into several parts,”Zhuman Karimov recalled.
Fiery figure
In 2014, Lyubov Potapova, a resident of the village of Ananyevo, Issyk-Kul oblast, spoke about her husband's unusual vision. In his words, the unidentified flying object looked like a luminous ball “larger than a star, but smaller than the moon”. He was sailing towards Kazakhstan.
“Such balloons often fly by. And once my husband saw a huge fiery figure in the air. He's an atheist, a traveler, he doesn't drink or smoke,”said Lyubov.
Glowing Squadrons
Bishkek resident Andrei Bobrov said that he saw a UFO every day when he was vacationing in Issyk-Kul. Objects flew along a zigzag path, always in one direction, in small squadrons of five or six glowing balls.
