A 22-year-old student accidentally discovered that from a trip to Tanzania, Africa, he brought not only pleasant memories, but also several dozen living "souvenirs".

In September, he returned to his native Sussex, UK, unaware that he had brought with him an intruder - a sandy tropical flea.

Matthew didn't even realize that he became an incubator for the eggs of the parasite until he felt a tingling sensation in his leg. According to the guy, he was sitting on the bed in his room when strange things began to happen to his limb.

“I was sitting on the bed when I felt a tingling sensation in my foot,” recalls the Briton. - I looked down, saw a lump and only had time to think that it could be, as the tumor burst and from it small eggs of a whitish-yellow color fell on the bed. There were at least a hundred of them."

O'Donnell says that what he saw amazed him so much that he was confused and could not figure out what to do.

“I didn't know whether to laugh or scream hysterically at 3 am and rush into the kitchen to cut off my leg with a carving knife,” the student admits with a laugh. - I suspected that it might be, because during my stay in Tanzania, a sand flea entered the leg of one of my friends and laid eggs in it. There is sand everywhere, so it is not surprising that after walking in slippers you can get such souvenirs.

The student collected the eggs, and then went to the hospital to make sure that his guess was correct and show the doctors the crater in the foot.

Doctors confirmed that the Briton indeed brought a sand flea from Africa, adding that he was incredibly lucky as all the eggs came out of the wound.

“The doctors said the wound was clean, but I still feel uncomfortable. It wasn't painful for me, but rather unpleasant, but everything looked pretty creepy. In addition, I am haunted by the thought that for a month I was used as an incubator, and I did not even know about it, - said Matthew in an interview with the British tabloid Mirror.
