Ancient Egypt is full of secrets and mysteries and after those times a huge legacy remained, including the quality of the pyramids, attention to which does not stop. But in addition to the pyramids themselves and the mysterious drawings in them, several traditions have survived to our time, which our contemporaries will consider wild or barbaric.
It is customary for us that people speak about the dead either well or not at all. Naturally, it is not accepted for them to take revenge and do something in spite, because they will no longer feel this, and therefore, there is no point in building any executions. However, the ancient Egyptians did strange things. It was believed that if you erase the portraits or names from the tombstones of the deceased, they would be deprived of the afterlife, in which the majority of the Egyptian population believed.
Relatives and friends of the deceased often watched around their tombs, and wealthy Egyptians could afford to hire a guard who would watch the burial around the clock. This discovery was quite recent and was helped in this by the tomb discovered in the Tell Edfu temple. Ancient Egyptians believed in gods and an afterlife, honored their ancestors and often took revenge on the dead. Such a culture is difficult to understand in the modern world, where people believe in one God and respect those who have left this world.
