For 8 legs and 2 tails, the animal was nicknamed the Octopus
A mutant kitten was born in the small village of Chastoostrovskoye, 20 km from Krasnoyarsk. The newborn has eight legs, two tails, two jaws and one head. Such a cub was brought by an ordinary domestic cat.
- This is the third offspring of our Ksyushka (the name of the mother cat), but we have not seen such an offspring yet, - the 13-year-old owner of the pet Anton Ryzhenko is surprised. - When Ksenia saw her miracle child, her eyes were ten. And we, how stunned! But still they decided to keep the kitten for themselves, not to drown. I immediately thought of a suitable name for him - Octopus.
The mutant kitten did not live long, only a few seconds. The mother cat crushed him with her body, and the baby suffocated. After the death, the cub was handed over to veterinarians in Krasnoyarsk for study.
- This is a very rare case, - says Lev Chuzhakin, a veterinarian surgeon about Octopus, - The kitten had a breakdown in genetics in the womb. Why this happened is difficult to say. Science has been looking for an explanation for such phenomena for a long time, but so far to no avail.
By the way, a year ago a bull was born near Krasnoyarsk - a mutant with five hooves. One of them was on the back! The goby's excess limb was amputated, but it still did not survive.
