The ancient city of Chan Chan on the Pacific coast in Peru, according to official history, is the former center of Chimu culture. This city in the 15th century. conquered by the Incas, and then by the Spaniards, who finally destroyed it. The Spaniards are credited with a lot of destruction. But looking at the photographs of the city, you understand that it can take years to destroy such an area. And most importantly, why do this?

This is a city built from unbaked clay. Historians claim that the city with such walls could not be conquered by the Incas and even changed the course of the river, leaving the city without water. Only after that did the city surrender. But I did not see the rivers on the google map in this place. Only dry channels. It is possible that once the rivers flowed here.

Promotional video:

The city was large, with an estimated population of 40-60 thousand people. At present, only a part has been excavated, the rest lies under agricultural fields.

Squirrel ornaments in clay buildings. So, squirrels lived and there were forests.

The logic is as follows. If there were rivers, there were rains (there are no glaciers in the mountains), and such structures made of unbaked clay will be washed away by a few rains or showers. I believe that this clay city was built at a time when the climate was dry. In Africa, they also build houses from clay huts, not fearing that they will be washed away by rains, because it rarely rains there.

What city could the Incas not conquer? Maybe he is under these layers? Or why wasn't the city built of stone? Mountains nearby. And judging by the territory, many people lived here, there was someone to build.

View of the city from a low altitude. Another thought. It is possible that the city's builders believed that the clay from which they built would petrify over time. That everything will happen to this rock in the same way as it happened to the plastic rock, which was mined in the mountains, from which stone structures were built.

But petrification did not happen and a heavy downpour destroyed the city almost to the ground. And here people have not returned. And this destruction is passed off as the destruction of the Spaniards. Once again: why would the Spaniards destroy such territories?

Another observation: why here the whole city was destroyed like a bulldozer? It is impossible to destroy absolutely all buildings, and it is imperative that the survivors should return here later, restore something and continue life. As you can see, nothing like this happened.

Excavations. Found idols. The stages of archaeological work and the final of the reconstruction are visible.

If the city was in that era in an arid climate, then where did the inhabitants get water for cultivating the fields? There are no glaciers in the mountains in this place; if rivers do appear, it is only during the rainy season.

Not a single stone. Only clay. Apparently, the material for the construction was taken right there from under our feet.

The destroyed buildings of the city are visible at the foot of the mountains. From a height in the sands you can see the traces of the walls. This again says that the city has been destroyed by showers or even torrents. And the following facts speak about it:

In this place, 227 graves of children and more than 50 adults were found. And also more than 200 skeletons of llamas. They attribute these facts to mass sacrifices. This is the paradigm of historical science. But archaeologists and historians cannot assume that these are victims of a flood, even if not global or spontaneous (unexpected). The rounded cobblestones say they are mudflows.

Video with excavations in Chan-Chan. It can be seen that even the adobe pyramids were covered with mud and stones from mudflows. The streams coming from the mountains were powerful.

Why couldn't people escape in this city? Maybe children and old people remained in it, and adults worked in the fields, could not bring them out on time. And this city was overnight covered with mudflows from the water from the mountains or an abruptly started heavy downpour. Or there were showers in the mountains and descended in huge streams. City residents, old people and children with animals, did not manage to climb the mountains, because many kilometers to them.

Agree, this is not in any way like a burial. These are victims of some element, buried in the walls of also destroyed buildings. Clay mudflows with pebbles that could only come from the mountains are clearly visible.

This video shows other interesting observations about this place.
