Already today, 7.6 billion people live on Earth. A colossal number that may become even larger in the near future. So, at least, demographers say: experts are sure that by about the middle of the century the world's population will be ten billion people. Will it be deadly for the Earth?
The jump in food productivity (the so-called "green revolution") has occurred in Asia thanks to the American Rockefeller and Ford funds. By 1980, the rice crop in Asia had nearly quadrupled. This solved the problem of hunger, but at the same time provoked a demographic jump in the population.
In addition, the development of agriculture required and requires increased use of chemicals. Back in 1943, botanists Albert Howard and Gabriel Howard published The Agricultural Testament, where they proved the harmful effects of agrochemistry on soil. Simply put, it will not be possible to repeat the "green revolution" a second time, all soil resources are too depleted.
At the moment, sociologists adhere to the general opinion: 10 billion is not the limit for our planet, but given the tendency of humanity to reproduce uncontrollably, this number will grow exponentially.

True, the growth in the level of civilization has already shown a decrease in the average number of children in a family. Scientists suggest that the only way to maintain a stable number of the world's population is to raise the level of development of society itself.
