A resident of the British city of Margate, Kent, admitted that she was completely bald after giving birth to two children. Her story was shared by The Sun. Rima Theisen revealed that her first hair loss began about six months after the birth of her son in March 2016. This soon stopped, but after the birth of her daughter in September 2017, her condition worsened. By August 2018, the 37-year-old woman had lost her last body hair.

It all started with the realization that there was too much hair left on the comb. Then Theissen began to find clumps of hair on the floor. The British woman read on the Internet that this happens in the postpartum period and, as a rule, goes away after a few months. However, after the birth of their second child, the hair began to fall out so quickly that it did not have time to grow back. Theissen consulted a therapist, but she did not take the woman's complaints seriously.

In May 2018, the British woman made the decision to shave off the remaining strands and give them to wigs for teenagers suffering from cancer. At first, Theisen was worried about the lack of hair and tried to wear wigs, but soon stopped doing it. Her husband and relatives supported her. When the British woman quit her maternity leave to work as a flight attendant in July 2018, passengers began regularly asking her if she was undergoing chemotherapy. She soon lost her eyebrows and eyelashes, and by the end of the summer she had lost her last body hair. Theissen wears false eyelashes and has her eyebrows tattooed to look more natural.

Doctors attribute the incident to alopecia totalis - in this autoimmune disease, the immune system attacks the cells of the hair follicles. As a rule, hair does not grow back in patients with alopecia. “Several months have passed, and the hair does not even think to grow. I accepted that my hair would not come back to me. Oddly enough, I miss them less than I expected,”admitted Treisen. She noted that she receives many compliments for her unusual hairstyle. The Briton wears a wig only "on occasion."
