British archaeologists have found in the village of Drumnadrokit on the shores of Loch Ness, a Bronze Age burial four thousand years old. According to the website of the excavating AOC Archeology Group, the researchers found no remains in the grave and found only a small ceramic vessel decorated with simple ornaments.

In 2015, when carrying out security excavations at the construction site of the Dramnadrokite Medical Center, archaeologists found a burial in which human remains, dating from 4-4.5 thousand years ago, were preserved. In addition to bones, a stone plate with holes for laces was found in the burial, which protected the wrist of the deceased, possibly during archery. The researchers concluded that they had found the burial of the archer, but the sex of the deceased has not yet been determined.

Now, not far from the first burial, a second grave has been found. It is lined with stones and is oriented along the north-east-south-west axis, its dimensions are 0.8 × 0.45 meters, and its depth is 0.55 meters. The archaeologists found no remains in the burial; there was only a ceramic goblet decorated with a simple geometric pattern. Perhaps there were offerings in it, which they put together with the deceased.

According to project manager Mary Peteranna, the site where the graves were found was used for burial rituals in prehistoric times. “During the excavation, we found a displaced stone from another grave, which either has not survived or has not yet been found,” says Peteranna.
