Astronomers and space scientists have concluded that nearly 50 exoplanets, possibly containing liquid water, could be habitable.

We are talking about objects, the range of which is equal to the size of Mars and can reach several times the size of the Earth.

All planets known to science today are located in the zones of the so-called. parent stars. It is to them that the attention of the scientific community of cosmologists studying the planets, on which life probably exists in different forms, is riveted.

Scientists call planets watery if an object contains at least 10 percent of its mass of water, and substances such as helium or hydrogen are present in its atmosphere.

However, there are also antagonists of this scientific theory, who insist that the existence of life on such planets is practically impossible due to the lack of land on them. After all, it is she who is responsible for the process in which carbon dioxide, which has a gaseous form, high concentrations of which in the atmosphere determine an increase in temperature unfavorable for life on the planet, is divided between the atmosphere and the interior of the planet. This process is referred to as the carbon-silicate cycle, but recently a new study from the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Center was announced that revealed curious physical and geological cycle processes that are possible on aquatic planets.

And, according to the researchers, cases are not excluded when, under the influence of high pressure of atmospheric carbon dioxide, sea ice is literally saturated with chemicals that are heavier than water and, for this reason, submerged downward, forms a stream of matter that has a similar effect on the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon-silicate cycle has the same properties.

According to experts, to make this effect possible, the planet needs to rotate around its own axis at a speed that is almost three times the speed of rotation of our planet.

As a result, according to scientists, the "habitat" for these planets will be approximately equal to the boundaries of the "traditional" habitable zone for luminaries, the size of which is equal to the Sun.
