Our cryptanthropological search for traces of ancient giants in Russia and regions of the former Soviet Union is still in its infancy. So far, we can only refer to some of the brief conclusions of the 20th century that come from the daily press of the Anglo-Saxon language field.

We hope that Russian-language articles (or even scientific publications) of the 19th and 20th centuries, which could provide more complete information about such discoveries, are being prepared in cooperation with interested colleagues of ROIPA (Russian Society for the Study of Atlantis), RAS (A) (Russian Antlantological Association) and independent Russian-speaking researchers.

The first press note we reproduce here is from the March 9, 1901 Glenwood Post (Colorado) issue: “Professor WP Amalikiski of the University of Warsaw discovered skeletons of a primitive race of giants in northern Russia that are about ten feet long [ca. 3.05 m; d. Ü.] were great."

A little more detailed is another note, which - based on an agency report from the United Press - appeared in the traditional Washington Post on October 30, 1945. This short message, studied by Mika Evers, states:

“A giant skeleton with a 33" skull circumference [approx. 0.84 m; d. Ü.], and a 33-inch shin was found in the Tien Mountains in Central Asia, north of the Himalayas, the official Russian TASS news agency reported yesterday on a radio broadcast."

Fortunately, this was not the last time that something in the Western press could be read about this impressive find. Thus, in his research, Mika Evers came across a slightly longer article from 1946. This article appears to be based on coverage of the Canadian Fort Williams Times-Journal, from the Lethbridge Herald (also Canada).

There we read: “The discoveries made by scientists during the Second World War indicate that the ancient land in which we live still hides many secrets. Of all the discoveries made by Russian scientists, it is the strangest and most ominous, says Fort Williams to the Times Magazine.

From Russia it was reported that between 25,000 and 100,000 year old settlements had been identified, and a new island in the Laptev Sea was found in northern Siberia. Soviet scientists dug up what is known as the fossil remains of giants, whose skull measures 33 inches in circumference and the tibial bone measures 33 inches.

Such measures involve no less than a giant. A head of this size had to have a large and strong body to carry it. If the shin is 33 inches long, it should have legs at least six feet long (approx. 1.83 m; d. Ü.] You can imagine his stride size when moving.

It has long been recognized that the fossils irrefutably show that animals and reptiles of enormous size previously existed on Earth. During such a period, people were probably much larger than modern people. Therefore, the ancient legends about the giants of the past could well have a real basis."

It also reveals another recent find by Mick Evers, found in his investigation and discovery in the Caucasus, reported in Deseret News on March 29, 1976:

“Moscow (UPI) - Soviet archaeologists have discovered the tomb of a giant, which contains rich gold jewelry dating back 5,000 years ago. The human skeleton measured 7.2 feet [approx. 2.19 m; d. Ü.].

The TASS news agency reported on Sunday that the burial site discovered in the North Caucasus was made from highly polished slabs of volcanic sedimentary rocks, some of which weighed over a ton."

In addition, a side note by Robert Charr, who in 1965 in her book Le Livre des Secrets Trahis noted: “Only in 1964 were skeletons of people found in the Algetki cave near Mangli (USSR), which were from 2.80 m to 3 m.
