Unlike other demons, crybaby pose the greatest danger at sunset, at a time when people go to sleep. They are attracted to the house by the presence of newborn children. Standing at the head of the cradle, the bat in every possible way interferes with the child's sleep, in her presence the baby begins to scream, cry and rush about. The spread of childhood diseases is also attributed to the action of myotis.
These spirits enter the house through an open door or window. Outwardly, the bat, in most descriptions, looks like an ugly old woman in black clothes with clawed hands. Being undead and possessing magical abilities, she can enter the house in the form of a bat or a ghost. Some sources describe the bat as a beautiful woman dressed in black. An indispensable attribute of Kriksa's appearance is long black hair.
You can protect yourself from the visits of the bat with the help of charms. We will not consider the advice of the Christian church, because this type of night spirit appeared long before the emergence of this religion. As a means of preventing the crickets from entering the house, they use sharp metal objects like an ax located at the cradle. According to legends, one of the most reliable means is the key to the locked door, placed in the baby's cradle.
