From the point of view of science, lightning is an easily explainable, albeit formidable, phenomenon. It is a discharge of electricity that occurs during a thunderstorm due to a collision of oppositely charged particles in a cloud. And this phenomenon cannot be called rare either: every second about a hundred lightning strikes the earth's crust.
The meeting of a person with such a discharge usually ends tragically, but predictably - with death. However, scientists "collect" non-standard outcomes of hits - there is a great variety and variety of them.
Innocent pranks of a heavenly guest
Of course, such incidents do not pass completely without a trace, but a person remains alive - and this is the main thing. Such people can be called “born in a shirt”.
In 1869, the mayor of a small French town was caught by a thunderstorm in a field, and took refuge from it under a tall poplar. Lightning struck the tree, but did not kill the traveler, but only stripped him. Scraps of scorched clothing were scattered throughout the meadow, and only one shoe remained on the town head. Lightning is also partial to metals. Various incidents occur with them. A unique case occurred with a girl whose locket and chain from her neck evaporated by lightning without a trace, leaving an imprint after them that had left her skin for several years.
There are also more serious consequences in the form of images similar to photographs of leaves, branches or bird feathers left on the body of a person who has been struck by lightning. They are called the Lichtenberg figures; many people marked by them survived, but such a seal remained on their bodies until their death. Other "pictures" are no less mysterious: images of nearby objects, including buildings and cars, are projected onto the body in the form of burns. Why and how is unknown.
Only mysticism can explain a story that happened in one Puritan American town. Former at the height of his fame, John Lennon allowed himself a statement about his fame: he said that he surpassed Christ in popularity. Religiously offended radio station from Texas KLUE arranged a kind of anathema to The Beatles, publicly burning records and other symbols of the group. The next day, in a thunderstorm, lightning hit the radio building, all the equipment burned out, and the announcer who had voiced the flash mob was in a deep faint.

Many facts have been documented that a person obtained some abilities after being struck by lightning. Several blind people received their sight, and among them were people who had not seen from birth. Ophthalmologists refused to believe their eyes: in one of these blind people, the nerve endings in the eyeballs were not formed, he could not see even theoretically.
In 1782 - a historically confirmed fact - an Englishman, who was surrounded by the Duke of Kent, completely paralyzed, attracted lightning to himself. After the blow, his paralysis subsided, and the man was again able to move and take care of himself.
