A group of scientists gathered from all over the world have published the results of research and observation of one of the Antarctic glaciers, the size of which is equal to the size of France.
A huge glacier called Totten has alarmed scientists with its melting, which has begun and continues at a dangerous pace. Scientists are worried not only by the speed of melting of the huge glacier, but also by its size. According to preliminary estimates, there is enough water in this glacier to raise the level of the World Ocean by 3 meters in just a hundred years.
It is no longer possible to stop the melting of this glacier, scientists say that it is time to prepare for the consequences of the rise in the level of the World Ocean, due to which most of the coastal areas will be flooded, causing world migration inland. As an alternative, the construction of water-containing barriers is proposed.
