From childhood, they put it into our heads that mercury is dangerous, it is a poison, and from school textbooks we know that mercury vapor can cause irreparable damage to health. But why is mercury so demonized, because there are even laws that prohibit its storage? Why are they doing everything today to make us afraid to come into contact with this substance?

Our ancestors were very familiar with mercury. She was sometimes credited with magical properties, and was also used in alchemy and medicine. For her sake, states were captured and cities were conquered. In the writings of the ancient Roman writer Pliny, it is indicated that in those distant times, Rome bought 4.5 tons of mercury from Spain. Throughout its centuries-old history, mercury has also been associated with the philosopher's stone.

"Give me a sea of mercury and I will turn it into gold" - these are the words not even of the alchemist, but of Isaac Newton himself. This scientist devoted 30 years of his conscious life to the study of alchemy and mercury. However, he encrypted all research in this area. These facts indicate that our ancestors greatly appreciated mercury.

In the second half of the 20th century, this substance was widely used in practice. It was used in tons in various spheres of life, but at some point everything changed and today about the horrors that will happen to a person if he inhales mercury vapors, the entire Internet screams, but how have these harmful properties not been noticed for centuries?

Today, over 20 mercury minerals are known, but the main source is cinnabar. Mercury is obtained by distillation, but there is another, cruder way. Red stones are simply heated in a furnace until the minerals begin to crack and mercury flows out of them. It seems that this method of extracting mercury was used by our ancestors.

Cinnabar is an absolutely safe mountain mineral, as well as pure mercury. Only its combination with other substances can be toxic. It is known that people who work with pure mercury do not even bother with protective clothing. But if mercury is not dangerous, why is it so scared?

In the USSR in the 80s, for the sake of radio amateurs, rumors were actively circulating about the amazing capabilities of mercury antennas. In 1989, they wrote about it in the magazine "Radio". Recently, an experimental enthusiast decided to build an experiment and made an antenna using mercury. Tests have shown that the antenna works really well.

Let's talk about the unique anti-gravity properties of mercury we are used to. It is known that mercury can interact with a magnetic field in such a way that the rotating mechanism of the engine begins to rotate at an accelerated rate on its own from contact with this substance.

Research on this topic is difficult to find today. Someone very smart has already appreciated all the prospects associated with mercury. All developments in the field of its use in engines abruptly went into the sphere of top secret laboratories.

In the 90s of the last century, the physicist-inventor Spartak Mikhailovich Polyakov was engaged in the anti-gravitational capabilities of mercury. He managed to design a vortex inertial engine. The essence of this development was to create a vertical thrust using a device that accelerates liquid mercury along spiral channels in a closed space. Polyakov managed to get a low thrust level of several kg. The entire course of the experiment is described in his scientific work "Introduction to Experimental Gravitonics", but the possibility of using the antigravitational properties of mercury interested scientists at an earlier time.

In 1875, in one of the Indian temples, scientists discovered an ancient written treatise called "Vimanika Shastra" (The link will be under the article). According to this source, it was mercury that ancient people used as fuel for their Vimans. This find seriously influenced the further technical progress of Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. It is believed that it was during this period that the basis of all modern military technologies was created in Germany. The Germans were interested in the applied side of ancient scientific works; Indian Vimans were of particular interest to German scientists.

German researchers were amazed at the precision with which the entire technology for the use and production of ancient aircraft was spelled out. The Germans decided that the ancient people could not just invent all this.

History knows two successful cases of creating aircraft with a propulsion system based on mercury.

In 1751, the Italian monk Andrea Grimaldi created a flying machine on which he took off and flew over the English Channel, and then reached London. This amazing structure looked like a bird and covered 7 miles in an hour. A letter has been preserved in Italy, which is a confirmation of this event.

The second story took place in May 1895 on one of the beaches of Bombay. On this day, tests of an unmanned aerial vehicle took place. It was created by Dr. Talpade, professor at the Bombay School of Art. The technologies of the same Vimans were taken as a basis. The device, equipped with a mercury engine, climbed 450 meters upward and held out there for several minutes, and then sank to the launch site.

Not only ordinary citizens, but also state officials were witnesses of this event. Apparently this was enough for the German scientific elite to launch the development process in this direction. According to some reports, Germany managed to develop an anti-gravity mechanism based on mercury. Everyone knows that after the victory, the scientific works of the Germans were actually torn apart by the winners, thanks to them, technological progress reached a fairly high level.

Development in this area went by leaps and bounds, but the shop was unexpectedly closed. Today we do not see any high-tech devices with mercury engines, and the substance itself and its research are under the strictest ban.

Why didn't such successful developments reach the broad masses? Perhaps someone is not interested in losing revenues from oil and gas.
